After having been around for a few years, several of the same questions to our staff have been popping us. Here are the questions you're asking, along with some others that you should be.
Why are you guys so negative?
We don't feel that we are unfairly negative, but the site name tends to villify us. We try to feature a humorous take on the negative side of things (Ring of Dishonor, Goat Trailer), because it's our little niche, and there are enough sites out there that only focus on the positives. Know that it's all tongue-in-cheek, and we love the team as much as you do.
Do you make money from the site?
The only money made off of this site comes from text link advertising and the occasional affiliate sale through our store. Most of the items we feature ourselves (t-shirts, etc.) are sold at cost. ...and most of the money made goes right back into the site to fund promotions.
Will you change the site name if the Dolphins win the Super Bowl?
Nope. I'd cry if they won the Super Bowl.
Who is going to be the next Ring of Dishonor inductee?
Sorry...can't say. If you have suggestions or comments on the choices (and you know you do), discuss it on our forums.
Why do you ask for a valid email address to register for the forums?
The message board software requires a valid email address to send a password, which you can then change. It just makes sure that there is accountability for spammers and forum violaters. Rest assured, we will never sell your email address. We hate spam as much as you do.
When are you going to update the site?
We update the Goat Trailer once a week, based on votes from our message board. We also try to get to the homepage each week, but since we don't offer breaking information, it's not a priority. The various articles come out whenever they're ready.
What is a YJFF Member?
When the site was first created, only personal friends knew about it. Therefore, a seperate, hidden message board area was created where certain users could chat about things that related only to them. Our fantasy football league is called YellowJackets Fantasy Football (YJFF), and "YJFF Member" is a tag used to identity user IDs with access to that hidden section.
Why don't you change out the old pictures of Wannstedt, Fiedler, etc.?
Because they are part of the history that put us where we are today. Our stumbles are just as important as our achievements. We could have a bunch of celebration pictures of Shula and Marino, but honestly, how fun would that be? Besides, the site isn't called The Dolphins Make Me Warm and Fuzzy.
When will the Ricky Williams bong be back in stock?
You'll know the answer once you stop smoking from it.
