At least all you season ticket holders aren't getting screwed out of a game this season.
Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on April 15, 2008, 03:39:16 pm Why are we playing the Bills in Toronto? That December schedule is BRUTAL. Three games in cold weather areas.

Dolphins will open at home against the Jets BY JEFF DARLINGTON Miami Herald The Dolphins will once again be traveling out of the country during the 2008 season -- but this time they won't have to cross any oceans. Among the few quirky aspects of this year's schedule, which was announced at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Miami will face the Bills on Dec. 7 in Toronto as part of Buffalo's plan to move some of their games across the border. At least running back Ricky Williams, who played for the Toronto Argonauts while he served a suspension for a failed drug test, will feel at home. The rest of the team's schedule is otherwise lacking in glamour. All but two games will be played at 1 p.m., which is probably a reflection of the Dolphins' poor showing last season. The two-late afternoon kickoffs are a result of West Coast opponents (at Arizona at 4:15 p.m. Sept. 14 at 4:15 p.m. and at Denver at 4:05 p.m. Nov. 2). The schedule has no Monday Night Football games. The Dolphins will open their schedule at home on Sept. 7 against the Jets at 1 p.m. on CBS. They will play at New England on Sept. 21, which will be followed by a Week 4 bye. On Oct. 5, the Chargers will travel to South Florida. On Oct. 12, the Dolphins will travel to Houston. On Oct. 19, Baltimore will travel to South Florida. On Oct. 26, Buffalo will travel to South Florida. On Nov. 9, the Seahawks will be on the road against the Dolphins as well. On Nov. 16, the Raiders will play in South Florida, which will be followed by one more game at home on Nov. 23 against the Patriots. The Dolphins will play at St. Louis on Nov. 30, followed by their trip to Toronto against the Bills. They will then come home on Dec. 14 to play San Francisco. On Dec. 21, Miami plays at Kansas City. Miami will close its schedule as it opened it, playing against the Jets, this time in New York on Dec. 28. Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: doctord56 on April 15, 2008, 03:57:31 pm Why are we playing the Bills in Toronto? That December schedule is BRUTAL. Three games in cold weather areas. It's also cold in St. Louis in late November. although they play in a dome there. Not that it will matter anyway, as the team will be about 3 and 8 going into the final stretch of 4 away (3 in cold stadiums) games in the last 5 weeks. Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: dolphins4life on April 15, 2008, 04:15:20 pm Beating the Jets would be a great way to open the season.
It's certaintly possible as well. Hell, the best way to open the season would be if Ted Ginn Jr. returned the season opening KO for a TD. Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: Sunstroke on April 15, 2008, 04:18:57 pm Looking forward to wearing my 49ers gear to the 12/14 game. If there aren't any tailgating plans already in place for that one, we should definitely make some. ;D Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: DZA on April 15, 2008, 04:35:36 pm NO primetime or monday night games, oh my! And it's awesome to start AND end the season against the JETS - I know what I'm asking for for christmas! And I bet Stroke is excited for the niners/fins matchup. Well That what a 1-15 season will do to you. Miami will have to rebound heavy to get back in primetime. ::) Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: bsfins on April 15, 2008, 04:46:36 pm hmm looks like I'm gonna be visiting St. Louis...Umm there at the end of November.... ;D

If there aren't any tailgating plans already in place for that one, we should definitely make some. ;D Why don't we make that the official TDMMC Tailgate Party? It's the mods call, so y'all get your heads together and make a decision. Put your house on it. Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: ethurst2 on April 15, 2008, 11:02:06 pm I have to try to get tickets to the Denver game now or else, it's no use.
I've never had a problem with Miami playing consecutive road games against quality opponents. That's how you measure your football team. I want to see Miami win big games on the road. That's something that they barely did during the Marino era. Ironically, the last BIG game they won on the road was here in Denver which also signaled the demise of their season with Gadsden, Chambers and Jay Fiedler getting hurt. Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on April 16, 2008, 08:25:09 am Well That what a 1-15 season will do to you. Miami will have to rebound heavy to get back in primetime. ::) Not necessarily. If the Dolphins have a good season, they could be on primetime in the latter half of this season (flex scheduling). Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: Denver_Bronco on April 16, 2008, 01:42:38 pm Not necessarily. If the Dolphins have a good season, they could be on primetime in the latter half of this season (flex scheduling). In other words, no primetime games.......... ;)Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on April 16, 2008, 02:19:02 pm In other words, no primetime games.......... ;) Are you gonna bet your car on the Broncos game, seeing as you lost your house back in 2005? ;D http://www.thedolphinsmakemecry.com/forums/index.php/topic,6543.0.html Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: Philly Fin Fan on April 16, 2008, 04:12:52 pm Why are we playing the Bills in Toronto? Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: CF DolFan on April 16, 2008, 04:16:41 pm The Toronto game is in a dome. He was worried about their trip from the hotel to the stadium. ;) ;DTitle: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: fyo on April 16, 2008, 05:27:04 pm The Toronto game is in a dome. It's in a stadium with a retractable roof: http://www.rogerscentre.com/about/facts/index.html Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: Philly Fin Fan on April 16, 2008, 05:28:30 pm It's in a stadium with a retractable roof: http://www.rogerscentre.com/about/facts/index.html And since its December in Toronto, I'm sure the roof will be closed, taking away any of Tommy's worries about it being a cold weather game. Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: StL FinFan on April 16, 2008, 05:42:54 pm Who do we thank for the improvement in conditions?
Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: Phishfan on April 16, 2008, 06:30:17 pm And since its December in Toronto, I'm sure the roof will be closed, taking away any of Tommy's worries about it being a cold weather game. I don't know, they may leave the rooof open to save on the AC bill that month. You know how those Canadian are >:D Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: BigDaddyFin on April 17, 2008, 12:16:38 am Three cold weather games is exactly what this team needs. They're going to have to overcome the elements.
I don't know if Toronto is going to be a true "cold weather game" though because if I remember correctly it's going to be in a dome. Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: stinkfish on April 18, 2008, 01:55:11 pm Does anyone know when individual game tix go on sale? I've got to get down for a game this season.
Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: Dave Gray on April 18, 2008, 04:18:03 pm I'm a big fan of flex scheduling. It's too hard to predict the NFL now. There's always a surprise team or two (in both directions).
Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: stinkfish on April 21, 2008, 01:05:02 am If anyone is planning any kind of a "TDMMC" get together game for this season, let me know, as I'm planning on getting down for a game.
Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on April 21, 2008, 08:10:37 am If anyone is planning any kind of a "TDMMC" get together game for this season, let me know, as I'm planning on getting down for a game. Frimp and I plan on coming down for the Jets game on opening day, along with Ms Frimp and Ms Tommy. Why don't we make that a TDMMC get together. Title: Re: All related 2008 Schedule threads Post by: StL FinFan on April 21, 2008, 10:39:16 am I want as many Dolfans in the Ed as posssilbe in November.

You know how those Canadian are >:D I'm pretty sure that they will leave the roof open because they want to give the Bills the home field advantage, but its usually not that cold here in Toronto even on December 7th. There are TONS of Bills fans in Southern Ontario. On the up side I can attend the game! |
