Well if you want him..........you better pay up. The days of Dolphins Paying way to high for people and getting rid of them to low are gone.  I believe Dallas has one of the few teams that really are just a great player away from the big dance. A first rounder for 1or 2 great seasons may be worth it.......... ;)

I am assuming that it is 11:30 Eastern time which should be 10:30 central but nothing on ESPN or the NFL network ESPN is running same clips and news rotation as when I got up at 6 and NFL network is running top 10 worst teams neither is running anything about JT.

We wanted him just like a we wanted Darren Mcfadden right. We dont want him that just the media throwing out different teams whom may be intrested. The only thing were trading for is a veteran WR. We have a nice defensive end rotation with Ware, Ellis, Spencer, and hacther. Jerry jones isn't bending over for the fat tuna. Go call Rick Speilman.

It's a wake up call for Jason Taylor, that his popularity doesn't mean near as much as he thinks outside of South Florida.....

Also notice he comes out and says this AFTER,Dancing with the Stars, and his charity Golf tournament....Can't have him pissing off the people who might vote for him,and open their wallets for him......

Mr Facelift WILL pay if there is a ring in it for him. Not 1 Player on the Cowgirls presently can compare to Jason Taylor.

Let me introduce you to Demarcus Ware. He's only been in the league 3 years and has been to 2 pro bowls. Had 14 sacks last season. Jason Taylor does nothing for us, deal with it.

Jimmy johson tried to pull the same nonsense with Dan Marino, come and disrespect him and tried to be the new king of south florida. In the end fans were more loyal to Marino than johnson.

Taylor isn't on the level of marino, but he's close and if parcells dosen't win here they will run his ass out of here just like they did jimmy.

Wow thanks for the history lesson  ::) ..being I remember it quite well thank you....Apparently you don't....

Too bad you're Wrong..It' was Dave Wannstadt that did that...Not Jimmy...Dan welcomed Jimmy,Anything for a ring...He wants to run the ball, I'll do it...It wasn't until Dave Wannstedt took, over the team did Marino think about the Vikings....Marino played 96-99 under Johnson, till they both retired ..

No You're wrong. Jimmy johnson stripped Marino of his ability to audible at the LOS, he took away all of offensive weapons and frustrated marino to no end. Didn't Marino and johnson retire after the jacksonville game? Dan Marino never played a down with Wannstedt as coached. Jay Fiedler was the QB under wanny if im not mistaken, but hey im not a dolphin fan like you.

How am I wrong...
I'm not the one who said this...

He didn't Disrespect Dan Marino, Marino said I'll do anything to win? Marino didn't say Trade me or I'm going to retire...It was reported that he felt Disresepcted the way Wannstedt treated him, when he got named head coach.(Not exactly welcoming him with open arms)

Jason Taylor is threatening to retire...and Parcells isn't even the Coach...

Talk about a flawed memory, and sheer hatered....

Complicating things further was that the Marino of the JJ years was not the great player he had been in the 80's. His skills were slowly declining, and he was above average in 96, an average QB in 97 and 98, and a poor one in 99. One of JJ's big failings was not finding the successor to Marino in his 4 years there as Marino's abilities gradually receded.

But anyway with JT, much of this is posturing by both sides. I don't think JT wants to retire and give up 16 million in salary, and the dolphins don't want to give JT away  for a measly 4th round pick. We'll see if some other team, thinking they are just one player away, or maybe with a training camp injury to their starting DE, makes a better offer. And if not, we'll see JT in aqua and orange next year.

Too bad for Marino that Shula didn't think about doing that while Marino was still in his prime.

Too bad for Marino that Shula didn't think about doing that while Marino was still in his prime.

run_to_win, I agree. During the last years of the Shula reign, Marino did whatever he wanted to do and Wayne said nothing because it meant selling tickets. Shula wanted to trade Dan to Oakland but Huizenga voided anything dealing with Marino.

Marino is the ONLY player that I ever knew to lambast Shula on the sidelines. You couldn't even get Johnny Unitas to do that and Unitas was an opinionated person. You could say from 1990 to 2000, Marino was a very average quarterback. Teams, especially Buffalo, had figured him out. Marino was not elected for the NFL Quarterback of the Decade in the 80's or 90's.

Marino also played a part in dumping Shula thinking that Jimmy Johnson was going to be different. Jimmy should have traded Marino the first year he became coach. Basically, the team got younger with the exception of the QB spot. the backup in Jimmy's first year was Craig Erickson. Jimmy would have been better off trading Dan that year for a second round pick and draft a future quarterback.

Jimmy installed a "check with me system" and didn't take away all the audiblizing from Dan. For the first time in his career, Marino had to check with a coach before changing a play at the line of scrimmage. Well, it must have worked because in 1996, Karim Abdul Jabbar was the first RB since Delvin Williams in 1978 to go over 1,000 yards. The Dolphins HELD the league record of runners NOT going over a thousand yards over a long period of time. Only Mark Higgs and Sammie Smith came close to doing it. Since then, Lamar Smith, Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown have accomplished the feat.

Johnson gets the blame of hampering the offense but just think of this. What if Lawrence Phillips or Cecil Collins would have been in their right mind? Collins, as far as talent, would have been a first round draft pick had he stayed in school all four years and not gotten into trouble. He was a Heisman prospect. That's just how good he was but he couldn't stay out of trouble. Same with Phillips. Jimmy swung and missed on Avery, Larry Shannon and who knew that Yatil Green would go down in a heap?

But he did have excellent drafts on defense.
