Oh please?  Dan was as mobile as a crippled turtle.  He could never run a QB sneak or QB draw.  There were countless times when it would be 3rd and short or 4th and short and Dan would be in the shotgun. 

Oh please?? ??? Watch the video cause this "crippled turtle" has GREAT feet and vision. The lack of sacks wasn't only because of his o-line.

This was a discussion we had a while back (probably lost witht he crash). I think the difference in this argument is how people define mobility. Dan couldn't run down the field, but he could make a rusher miss with a step or two and be able to get rid of the ball. I guess it depends on what you consider mobile.

Marino had some of the quickest feet the league had ever seen, he stepped out of a rush better than anyone of his time.  His o-line got more credit than they deserved for him not getting sacked.

But becuase of his fast release he was hardly ever sacked. Dan The Man.  (Sigh)  :-\

Dan the man had incredible instincts and presence in the pocket, it was almost like he had eye's in the back of his head. Dan was as tough as nails too, before he went down with the injury he did hold the NFL record for most  consecutive starts by a QB, and of course this is a record Brett Farve broke.

This always the problem with any list of top 10.  What is your criteria and how do you define it.  Heavy emphasis on the post season and Marino doesn't make the top 25 qbs of all time.  Emphasis longevity and regular season stats and he is in the top 10.  Vanderjett is the second most accurate kicker in history in the regular season, sucked in the post season, is he a top 10 kicker of all times, depends on the criteria.  If QB mobility includes the QB sneak than Marino is not as good as if it only means the ability to move around the pocket.   

We went over this at length before the site crash, as Phish said.

When defining mobility, if you account moving within the pocket, Marino was the best.  He could sidestep and had a very good knowledge of his surrounding.  Plus, he didn't get rattled.

As far as a RUNNING quarterback, he was terribly slow.

What's a QB?  Do we even have one of those on our team?

It was always funn to watch Danny  Runn.   When he took off scrambling he looked like a fatman with diarrhea  runnin to a far away toilet  :P :D ;D

Actually the problem is the Dolphins have too many.  It almost like the team is trying to set a record for the most unique starting QBs each season.

Eventhough Peyton Manning lead a team to the superbowl you could say the same about him. But regardless he is the best QB in the league and I wish he was in orange and aqua.

I would argue that Peyton is the 2nd best active QB, following Tom Brady.  Either one would improve the Dolphins.  And if I can't have Brady, QBing the Pats Peyton would be my second choice.  I suspect most Colt fans if they could have Peyton would have Tom as their second choice.

But is the same problem though out.  It is really impossible to say who is the "best" because their is some many variable and how much you weigh each variable effects the outcome.

Whose better Beck or Brady that is easy.  Favre or Marino not so easy.
