There is talk going around that the Giants are interested in trading Shockey for Jason Taylor, this would help them replace Strahan. The only downfall is no matter how interested the Giants might be in dealing Shockey it will never happen. Shockey has gone on record calling Parcells a homo, so he will never wear aqua and orange as long as Parcells is there, which should be no more than three years.



Shockey for Taylor deal unlikely

Gary Myers of the New York Daily News noted there has been much scuttlebutt about the New York Giants should trade Jeremy Shockey to the Miami Dolphins for Jason Taylor, who could replace Michael Strahan.

One problem. A few years ago, Shockey called Bill Parcells a "homo."

Wrote Myers: "I Can't see Parcells forgiving Shockey for at least another 15 years.''

Maybe he meant Homosapien?  ::)  Love to see him on the team but we still need a QB to get him the ball......

Imagine though.........Rickey Williams, a Healthy Ronnie brown , and Shockey lining up ? Sweet.  :-*

This trade would make alot of sense if not for the "homo" comment.  So, who knows?

I just don't know how excited I would be to see Shockey in Miami.  From what I understand, the guy still has a fair amount of rehab to go and he can't read a blitz and cutt off his route like he is supposed to.

No real interest in trading for Shockey...I'd rather see Ireland get future draft picks in any deal for Jason.

I can't see WHy he'd want Shockey...Shockey is bitching about being a giant,he'd be an even more miserable P.O.S in Miami....This sounds like some dumb Radio Talk show guy,Starting a rumor...(No offense there Maine,and Stroke the Real radio people Lol)

Shockey is a no talent ass clown.

I have no interest in Shockey.  I don't think he's all that, and I think he's more trouble than he's worth.  His attitude sucks.

But he's way better than any current tight end we have on the roster.

Is he?  This is a guy who didn't even play last year.  His team was better without him.

I have about as much desire in bringing Shockey to Miami as I do the 'Phins tracking down Daryl Gardner and re-signing him.   

Add this to the 'no thanks' pile, please.

Beg to differ.  I would wager Anthony Fasano will be more effective than Shockey would be at this point.

Shockey would be a huge upgrade at tight end for Miami (or 25 other tems, really), but he's already...what...almost 28?  Pass.  Gimme picks, baby...

The only problem with "gimme picks" is that no one is offering any better than a single measly 4th round pick at this time.

My out on a limb prediction is that during the exhibition season, one of the  upper echelon teams hoping for a super bowl shot  will have a defensive line injury or two, will thus be in great and urgent need of a top pass rusher, and make a better offer for JT. Of course, what the hell do I know?

You could be right.  It's best to hold onto JT for now...... and I still think Shockey is better than any of our current TE's

I think you're right, Doc.  I think some team's gonna get into camp and realize that A) their anointed pass rushers just ain't gonna get it done or B) suffer an injury at DE.  Hopefully, this leads to a third rounder for a one year Taylor rental.

te has to be one of the most overrated positions in the nfl. shockey???? no thanks... the giants ended up turning into a super bowl contender and eventual champion the minute he went on injured reserve.
