Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: MaineDolFan on June 30, 2008, 03:58:41 pm The original 'Debbie Does Dallas' fits the bill for me in either direction.
;) Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: Guru-In-Vegas on June 30, 2008, 03:59:37 pm I've seen way too many god-awful stinkers to pick just one. We've already discussed favorites.
XXX 2. The one with Ice Cube. This is the worst out of the many that are flooding my brain. Boogie Nights. Best. Honorable mentions for worst. Anything with DMX. Edited to not be douchey. Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: Dave Gray on June 30, 2008, 04:00:36 pm Best: Fight Club

I will call you a liar and slap your mother. >:( I have of course, already pre-warned my mother...but I didn't think Balls of Fury was as stinky as a lot of the stinkfest movies out there. Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: Buddhagirl on June 30, 2008, 04:32:45 pm I dare you to sit all the way through Leonard Part 6. I just got a chill thinking about that horrid movie.
Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: bsmooth on June 30, 2008, 06:59:41 pm Battlefield Earth makes Balls of Fury look like cinematic brillaince.
Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: bsfins on June 30, 2008, 07:57:08 pm Best movie....I haven't got a clue...

Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: bsfins on June 30, 2008, 10:47:38 pm Heat was the only movie I ever fell asleep at in the movie theater..was over hyped..and was very boring....
Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: CF DolFan on July 01, 2008, 07:55:27 am Anyone remember the cinematic colostomy bag known as IShtar? That was going to be my vote for worst movie ... I promise. My favorite movie was Silence of the Lambs. It really shouldn't be but it is. Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: MaineDolFan on July 01, 2008, 01:43:41 pm No freaking way I do this one for one.
Best five movies ever (and yes, I'm going to wuss out and include sequels and trilogies as one movie): 1: Lord of the Rings trilogy 2: Breakfast Club 3: Fargo 4: Training Day 5: Love, Actually *Honorable mentions go to Field of Dreams, Running Scared, Fight Club and Independence Day. Worst five movies I wish my eyes had never witnessed: 1: Borat 2: Drumline 3: American Pie 3 4: Rent* 5: Phantom of the Opera* I LOVE broadway and these are two of my favorite shows ever. Some musicals do okay on the big screen (Chicago wasn't horrible). These two were embarrassing. Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on July 01, 2008, 03:18:13 pm It's hard to pick a best and worst....I love so many movies and hate so few. So I will go with the first two movies that came to mind.
Best - Tombstone - I have seen this movie easily 50 times and I could watch it 50 more. it just never gets old. Phenomenal Movie.....Enough Said!!!!! Worst - Napoleon Dynamite - That is seriously 82 minutes of my life I will never get back. People kept telling me you have got to see this movie it is hysterical. I finally sat down to watch it and I think I actually lost brain cells trying to watch this crapfest. I think I cracked a half smile one time when he was dancing at the talent show or whatever. That was it!!!!! Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: Dave Gray on July 01, 2008, 03:24:51 pm I find it so funny that some of us love Napoleon Dynamite and others hate it so much.
It's one of my favorite movies ever. I guess it's just a kind of sense of humor that some of us appreciate, and others don't. Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: AZ Fins Fan 55 on July 01, 2008, 03:28:18 pm ^^^
You know I always thought I had a pretty broad sense of humor. I just did not get this movie I guess!!!!! Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: simeon on July 01, 2008, 04:07:24 pm No freaking way I do this one for one. Oh common Maine, you know like da Borat, its a nice!!* Worst five movies I wish my eyes had never witnessed: 1: Borat Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: Sunstroke on July 01, 2008, 04:21:10 pm I find it so funny that some of us love Napoleon Dynamite and others hate it so much. I am like that with a few movies... I saw that someone noted Waterworld among their ultimate stinkers, and I've watched that movie at least 20 times. Same with another Costner movie, "The Postman." Most people I talk to think it is God-awful, but I'll sit there and watch it every time I see it's on TV. On the flip side, I saw Maine listed "Love, Actually" among his favorites, and I thought it was a complete dog. The subjectivity of art never fails to astound me... Oh common Maine, you know like da Borat, its a nice!! Maine is anything but common... ;) Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: SportsChick on July 01, 2008, 04:30:07 pm Maine, I so disagree about Rent - I thought it was really well done and having the original Broadway cast really was awesome. I wasn't fond of all the changes, but overall, I was really happy with it
Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: BoSoxGrl on July 01, 2008, 04:48:58 pm Best Movie: Goodfellas & The Shawshank Redemption
Worst: Raise The Red Lantern. Fau ordered this because his Netflix thought it would be in his taste realm. BTW, Netflix doesn't know me at all. "Say Kate, I see you ordered 80,000 gangster and action movies. Perhaps you would like "The Care Bears visit China." I have a feeling Red lantern was similar experience and Fau was dumb enough to think "say, this Netflix fella has never steered me wrong". It made me want to punch babies. Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: BoSoxGrl on July 01, 2008, 04:49:42 pm Maine, I so disagree about Rent - I thought it was really well done and having the original Broadway cast really was awesome. I wasn't fond of all the changes, but overall, I was really happy with it QFT.Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: Dave Gray on July 01, 2008, 06:02:49 pm Be proud of Silence of the Lambs, CF. That movie is great.
There are some movies that people really love that I think are shitty. Recently, Weddings Crashers, I thought was pretty terrible. Everyone else seems to love it. Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: BJL on July 01, 2008, 07:22:26 pm Hard to pick my favorite movie, but I know which one I'll pick for worst. Walk Hard had to be one of the worst movies I've seen. It wasn't funny. Some of the scenes that were intended to be funny just made me angry. It was a Will Ferrel movie without Will Ferrel, whose movies I usually hate. I also started watching Meet the Spartans with one of my friends, and had to turn that off before I killed someone. At least with a bad action movie you can laugh at it (most of the time). A bad comedy is just frustrating...
Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: Guru-In-Vegas on July 01, 2008, 07:24:02 pm I agree. Silence of the Lambs is very good.
There are some movies that people really love that I think are shitty. Recently, Weddings Crashers, I thought was pretty terrible. Everyone else seems to love it. Which is why I never take people's word for movies or even games. So many people love some horrible stinkers that I only get mad at myself when I'm done watching something that sucked. I'll use this example. Pirates of the Caribbean. Before you guys stone me, hear me out. Its an OK movie but not something I'd buy, let alone for that much. Thanks to my own idiocy and my friend's liberal use of the word "best" I thought what the hell, I'll pay 20 something bucks at Walmart (it was late, everything was closed and I was bored.) I watched it that ONE time and has since then slept forever on the shelf never to be opened again. Come to think of it, he thought Man Apart was going to revolutionize film. Thanks to him I spent 2 hours watching that shit. Thats what I get for thinking a Vin Diesel movie would be watchable. Then again, I have a weird taste in movies myself. My favorite movie of all time is hardly something most people would name. I also really like over the top and weird shit like Kill Bill and Sin City movies that many people I know HATED. For the record, I like Napoleon as well. Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: Pats2006 on July 01, 2008, 07:46:11 pm Best has to go to the "Good Fellers" worst that I just see was "The Mist"
Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: fyo on July 02, 2008, 09:44:01 am Heat would be second... You must not have seen a lot of movies... Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: simeon on July 02, 2008, 02:16:25 pm I agree. Silence of the Lambs is very good. Nothing but a money machine for Disney.Which is why I never take people's word for movies or even games. For the record, I like Napoleon as well. Weird stuff about Pirates The first movie is about Capt Barbosa and the crew of the Black pearl trying to end a curse because they are forced to live forever,so basically they don't want to live forever. At the end of part three Barbosa announces to his crew they have a new mission, find the fountain of youth so they can live forever. In part one Will Turner,Elizabeth and Jack Sparrow trick Barbosa and his crew eventually leading to Barbosas death. In the end of part two Will Turner and Elizabeth help bring Barbosa back from the dead, where in part three helps them find Jack Sparrow at worlds end,my question why wasn't Barbosa bitter or revengeful toward these people ? This whole series doesn't make sense I believe Disney is just throwing it out there to make money. Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: DolFan619 on July 02, 2008, 02:20:26 pm It's hard to pick a favorite movie. However, Sin City was one of the best movies I've ever seen. Ready to Rumble was absolutely the WORST movie I've ever seen.

You and I are in agreement on this one...I loved Sin City, and am looking forward to the sequel. Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: TonyB0D on July 03, 2008, 09:02:40 am best:
transformers worst: fast & furios Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: AprFools_Phins on July 03, 2008, 04:45:41 pm I think the best is Transformers. I LOVE this movie. I also loved the Pirates movies, and Enchanted. Some of my favorite movies are not exactly the best movies- I tend to like cheesy movies a lot of people hate, and I am a huge fan of Disney movies.
The worst? Ugh where to start...The dead girl was terrible. I hated 28 days later. Idiocracy...Why did I ever watch this? and lots of others I can't remember. Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: Dave Gray on July 07, 2008, 03:58:01 am I liked Idiocracy. I think it was actually a much smarter movie than its given credit for.
Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: MaineDolFan on July 07, 2008, 02:08:12 pm Ready to Rumble was awesome.
(http://images.allmoviephoto.com/2000_Ready_to_Rumble/bill_goldberg_oliver_platt_ready_to_rumble_001.jpg) Okay, not really. I actually am ashamed to say that I watched it. It was on Starz one night while I was doing some work on my lap top. Like a bad Tony Robbins info-merical, I was sucked in. Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: cyan on July 07, 2008, 09:36:12 pm I liked Idiocracy. I think it was actually a much smarter movie than its given credit for. +1, Idiocracy is genius, as is most of Mike Judge and Ethan Cohen's recent output. In fact, and no offense to the previous poster, but my sister and I were just talking about Idiocracy the other day, and how the only people who didn't like and/or 'get it' were the biggest morons we knew, or in other words, the theoretical characters of the film itself. Such as, her former roommate who couldn't get a job at Starbucks because she spelled coffee "c-o-f-i-e" on the application. (This despite the fact that the words "starbucks coffee" are written at the top of said application). some of her other gems were "frizer" (freezer) and "Hualk" (Hulk). She is 19 years old. Her brain, however, is not. Title: Re: Best/Worst movie you have seen Post by: DolFan619 on July 07, 2008, 09:45:11 pm Ready to Rumble was awesome.
