Title: Ricky
Post by: Frimp on August 10, 2008, 01:31:14 pm
How many years can we expect out of him? I'd hate for us to go through a year or two of rebuilding and getting good again, only to have Ricky's talent lag, and he retires. I'm hoping we'll get at least 4 more years out of him. Is that realistic?

doubtful.  I see him around for 1-2 more seasons before he's cut.  whether he retires or not remains unseen, but I'd bet if he didn't owe the Dolphins all that money, then he'd be retired right now.

The whole deal is, if Ricky plays out the number of years on his contract at league minimum, the Dolphins will forget about the judgment.

Considering he's been out of football for a good bit, he might be much fresher than a 31 year old RB who has played 10 consecutive seasons.

Thanx Ricky.   The fans really showed some love when he stepped on the field.   Good show by the weird one.  Cant wait til the reg season.

That money is not keeping him here or else he would have stayed being a druggie. He's here for the new money that it will bring him.  The best part is the longer Ricky is here the longer we can expect to keep getting results our of Ronnie.  The average back, even superstar, doesn't really last very long so whether you like Ricky or not he is helping to keep Ronnie healthy.

Personally I just love watching him run.  He's definitely head and shoulders above most players.

I think it's likely that we'll get another 2 years out of Pothead, maybe 3. The big question is what happens after this season when Ricky is a free agent. He'll almost certainly try to get one last large contract and that's going to require more than a single season's commitment. The question is, will it be for us?

He's sorta like Antwon Smith was for the Patsies. An older running back, but young in terms of legs because he didn't see a lot of playing time in his younger days.

I hope Ricky plays another 4 years in the Aqua and Orange....the guy is an absolute beast on the field....he is in the best shape of his life at age 31, hasn't taken alot of hits since 2003, so realistically 4 years is possible.....it would be great if he were still around when The Miami Dolphins win the 2011 Super Bowl!!! ;D

  I Love Ricky Williams # 34!!!!
