Title: Dazzling Ability
Post by: sciotto on August 10, 2008, 09:06:56 pm
Don't ask me how I can do it. I just can. If I had applied this ability to my studies, I could have been a serious brain surgeon. If any of you ever get together with Tommy, who is the only Fin fan more passionate than I am, he will attest to my ability to do this as will Jeff and Doc. I can rattle off any score to any Dolphin regular season or playoff game from the '73 AFC Divisional Playoff win over the Bengals through last season's regular season finale against the Bengals.
I had these guys going last night. I don't use notes. I can just do it. They were picking games from 20 years ago and beyond, and I was getting them. Now I know you all think there's a gimmick here, but if you meet me in person, I'll do this for you.

I can gladly admit that I was there to witness what I called the "freakishly impressive" ability. Doc had a copy of the 2007 Media Guide with the history in there and Scottio was perfect one very game that we asked about.

How do you know you and Tommy are the most passionate?  Have you personally met all of us?  I'm offended.

I can attest to Tommy's vocalism, but would still challenge the passion scale.

Sorry! I didn't mean to "offend" anyone. I'm sure you are all just as "passionate" as we are. We are all brothers and sisters here in thye world of Dolfan Land. No need for offense!

Tommy isn't passionate.  He's just nuts.  There is a difference.

;)

Hey, I resent that!!!!  I am pretty passionate about my teams.

And my jaw hit the floor seeing Sciotto rattle off scores in a matter of seconds.

I can't recite any dolphins boxscore stuff like that, but on a clear day, I can smell a midget from over a mile away. Probably not a dazzling ability, but it does come in handy a lot on the weekends.

I'm terrible with the stat stuff..........but I have seen the Dolphins play at in 5 different cities besides Miami. Almost got killed in Veterans stadium.  I'd say I'm pretty Passionate. And I consider many here my peers.  ;)

I would like the defend Tommy.  The guy is a lot of things.  He may be goofy at time...illogical, etc.  ....but you can't question his passion.

He gives his "all" and then some.  I've seen him projectile vomit some of that "all" when he was hitting it a little too hard.  He drinks hard.  He cheers hard.  I'll give him that.

^^^ Quite honestly the last few times I saw Tommy he wasn't even drinking that hard.

And I don't want to know the score to yesterday's game, especially when the Jets get a pass interference call in their favor on their third TD drive, which turned out to be the difference. There was no contact on that play, but the Jets get that call because the quarterback is Brett Favre.
If Miami still had a healthy Marino, the Fins get that call as well.

Because eventually, waking up in the morning with a splitting headache, a mouth feeling like the Sahara Desert, and the question of "Why did I do it?" gets to you.

Plus, I'm settling down again.

I have to agree with this, as I was watching the game and the Jets didnt convert a first some mysterious flags came out. But what hurt us the most was Jake Long, the guy kept getting burnt on the corner so he started holding and tripping guys.

It's kinda hard to be upset with a rookie left tackle in the NFL.  He'll only get smoked a few times, and he'll settle into how to use his hands without a flag.  I would say give him half a year, but I suspect long will settle in after 2 or 3 games.  Then you will only see the periodic offsides.
