Title: Any word on Greg Camarillo?
Post by: dolphins4life on August 11, 2008, 06:17:16 pm
Is he still on the roster?

I know I've said he will be one catch wonder in the past, however, he is sure-handed and appeared to have good instincts when used last year.

Why not give him a fair shot?

Yes, he is on the roster.

No, he didn't look spectacular against Tampa, but he actually played with the starters (slot). According to the live practice blog, he's being pushed for that job by Davone Bess. Wilford is nowhere to be found... and if he actually does get cut (which would be a bit of a surprise given his contract), I think both Bess and Camarillo have a good shot at making the 53-man roster.

I think that Camarillo is probably a trivia question in the Dolphins history books and not a whole lot more.  He was brought up in the Tampa game, didn't show much, but gave the announcers the 2 minutes of air-time talking about his catch against the Ravens.

Camarillo is a one catch wonder, and is a marginal talent at best.  I don't see him making the 53 man roster.
