I am excited I believe I am going to able to see this game on my pc. For anyone who has high speed internet and wants info how to watch the game send me a private message.

Anyway, we have some undisciplined FB with 2 penalties, following by Chad Pennington scrambling

Miami receives.
1st drive already 2 straight penalties #rd down and 16 And Pennington runs down the field for yardage, 3 and out.

So this is how I'm spending a Saturday Night?  Following a preseason game?  What am I reduced to?

Anyway, we are moving the ball via the run game

Ginn catches a 22 yard pass and Ricky breaks off a couple of good runs.

Not sure what to make of this.  For the last two years we had good preseason play and sucked in the regular season and then sucked in the RS (culpepper and beck)

Was typical play, but Pennington and Ginn seem to on the same page. If this blossoms I will need to eat crow on what I said about Ginn.

Jake Long blows coverage and Miami can't convert for a 1st down, Carpenter kicks a field goal Miami 10- 0.

Jags cant covert on 3rd down near mid field, so jags go for it. Garrard over throws a wide open WR deep down the middle of the field, Miami takes possession of the ball.
Miami is looking bad on special teams.

Chad Henne is in the game he is almost intercepted so it was 3 and out. kick coverage interferes with catch, fourth flag for the day.

Special teams are a real problem for Miami.   They need to get this straightened out and fast.  Already 4 penalties for 40 yards, including 15 yards on special teams.  I guess I shouldn't be surprised since we don't have much depth and that's going to be exposed on special teams.

(add a 5th penalty while I'm posting - another 15 yards for a total of 55)

Ricky looks great so far.  I'm glad he's back.  I love you Ricky.

Ted Ginn is looking really impressive... too bad that bomb he just caught had to come back because of a little bobble, because the adjustment and overall play on the ball was impressive.

Sparano's first challenge flag...he thinks Ginn had it. Going under the hood to review now.

Don't look like a catch Ginn bobbled it. Henne is looking poised and confident.

I wonder if McCown or Beck get a quarter.. Henne's not going to be the starter and while he could use the snaps to develop, it's not like there's any rush.

Cobbs isn't doing a very good job selling himself. I know the trifecta like him, but he's really marginal. A "bubble" player like Sparano would say.

Strong first half for Miami.  Starters (with some backups) put 13 points on the boards and the defense holds Jax to a goose egg (with the help of a goal line fumble).  We must cut out the stupid penalties.  We gave up 60 yards in the first half.  Combine the terrible special teams coverage and it's surprising we are up by 13.  

Pennington and Ricky looked very good, I'm much more optimistic about getting a few wins this year after seeing what these two can do.

Henne has excellent command of the offense he leads them down the field for a field goal as time ends for half time. For you doubters out there Henne played against the jags 1st team defense and looked sharp. Cobb not having a great day, he looks crappy. I am giving Pennington,Henne and B+ and Ricky Williams and Ted Ginn A+.

Carpenter is looking outstanding again. Both FG attempts were "no doubt about it" and both of his kickoffs came down within 2-3 yards of the goalline. Our kickoff coverage team didn't do too well in the first half though, giving up 31 and 40 yds on the two returns.

  Anybody still pissed about Jay Feely's release?  I didn't think so.

Cleo looked sharp and throws a perfect pass into the endzone, Walker can't handle the catch. Cleo throws down the right side of the field and is picked off by Joey Thomas, now that's the Cleo I remember.

It was an excellent interception, but a LOUSY throw by Lemon. That was 10 feet behind the receiver, like he expected the receiver to cut to the sideline, rather than head to the corner. Joey was the only one who could've even considered catching it.

Nobody is questioning Carpenter's ability in preseason or practice. The question is what happens when the game is on the line. When there's real pressure.

Man Henne throws a nice pass to the tight end but he catch it. Wow what a nice play from Henne though.

Hey a penalty called against an opposing team ...It took seven quarters but we got one. ;D

Camarillo with a very nice stretching catch for 8 yds on 2nd and 10. Great pickup block by Lex Hilliard to keep Henne from getting killed on the play.

Carpenter with the 44 yd FG right down the middle... ;D

Bouman comes in and Miami is flagged for gradding the face mask, these penalties are adding up. Bouman burns the secondary with a deep pass, ball on the 3 yard line Jags run it in for a TD.

About Carpenter... I can't see the game here, so I don't know what the problem is, but the returns on Carpenter's kicks are HUGE.

returns: 31 yards, 40 yards, touchback, 25 yards, 31 yards...

There's plenty of distance in them, so either the coverage sucks or the kicks don't have enough hang-time - or both. Can someone watching the game chime in?

Definately a step in the right direction, by the way Jags made a good play against Henne or he would have thrown a TD. The point is this kid has flair and he looks like a seasoned QB, he is making good decisions and he has good awareness of the field.

Last Dolphin drive... why not give Beck a shot, Sparano?

I was not bashing Henne or anyone, I was just saying I would like to see more touchdowns than field goals.

Can someone explain to me why we just handed the ball off to Lex freakin' Hilliard 20 times in a row? Where's the value in that? There's no way he makes the team.

I didn't think you were, I agree with you, but in order to get there we need to look at the progress we are having. This is promising.

THEY'RE. It's really not that hard. "Their" expresses possession, "they're" is a contraction. The apostrophe is a dead giveaway.

Highlight for me: No sacks, no INTs, no fumbles. (on the phins).

The penalties still need work and special teams - especially on kickoffs - is horrendous.

Brown hurt?  You are kidding.  That has never happened before.

Good game tonight.  A lot of positives, including our first TD and our first win.  Carpenter, Ricky and Pennington all played well.  The offense didn't turn the ball over. The offensive line was solid and the defense was stout.   

But don't get too excited.  There are some disturbing trends in the first two games that really worry me.  In no particular order

penalties - 7 for 75 yards
punt coverage - 4 punts giving up 130 return yards  (avg - 32.5)
kick off coverage - 4 kick offs giving up 127 yards (avg - 31.75)
too many field goals.......not enough touchdowns....1 TD in 2 games

Miami averaged 15 yards on punts and 11 yards on kickoffs.   Miami won this game by winning the
turn-over battle and capitalizing on good field position in the first half.

I thought Chad was going to need a year to grow.
He has shown nfl caliber at the position and I think if he is named backup I am with it

meaning if we lose Chad I want Chad to take his place  ;D
