Addressing today's Beck and uniform rumors

I spend part of my work life chasing rumors and today is no different.

So far today I have chased two rumors that continue to persist and I am ready to report to you the first is true, the second is not.

It is true the Dallas Cowboys are mildly, and I do stress mildly, interested in quarterback John Beck. The Cowboys have winked, hand-signaled, called or e-mailed the Dolphins (however it is they do it) that they would be willing to part with a low-round draft pick for the second-year player.

Obviously, Beck remains on the Dolphins so nothing has actually materialized on that front.

Stay tuned, however, as Beck and Josh McCown continue to get minimal work in practice.

Onto another rumor ...

There have been persistent rumors the Dolphins are planning a uniform change this year. That is simply NOT true. The stuff about them going to silver pants and aqua helmets is just bunk.

The only change to Miami's uniform pattern of any significance is that the aqua pants will be added back to go with the white jerseys during road games. You saw that change in the opening road game of the preseason against Jacksonville.

So no uniform change. As I joked with a Dolphins official, that rumor is stomped like a bug.

This is great if true. I figured we'd just cut him.

Sorry, but not going to read every thread hoping for find a blurb about what I was going to post.  Had the title said something about Dallas being interested then it would have caught my attention.

The story which you posted from PFT referenced and linked to the blog from Armando which was one or two threads below the one you started. Its not like you had to dig from three days ago.

There's a rumor that the Patsies might cut Cassel... I wouldn't be surprised if Beck wound up in New England if he were cut outright.

I ran over those titles of the threads & did not see anything saying Dallas was reportedly interested in Beck or that Beck might be on the move.  Actually did not see Becks name in this thread.   Just saw uniform rumors.

  I would have been happy getting a cooler full of gatorade in a trade for Beck....I would be fuckin giddy if we got a draft pick in exchange for John Beck  ;D

Why would they cut Cassel? I seriously doubt that Belicheat would take Beck. The former Dolphins on the Patriots roster were all good players. Beck hasnt even shown promise.

  Beck has shown promise.  He just not shown the ability to do it right now. 

True. That one first down he got in that one game last year showed me alot. The boy's got great potential!  ;)
