Title: Okay time to admit it; he is nothing more than a system QB. Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on September 15, 2008, 09:55:33 am It is time to face the fact. Brett Farve is nothing more than a system QB. Look at what Rodgers is doing in that system. He is making Farve look very pedestrian. And it the Jets system he is no better than Chad Pennington. As much as everyone want to think Farve is a great HOF QB, it is clear he is nothing more than a system QB. ;D

My post was a satirical take off on those comments. Title: Re: Okay time to admit it; he is nothing more than a system QB. Post by: Brian Fein on September 15, 2008, 04:37:33 pm I know. Very often. Playing in conditions that most would crawl up in a ball and die in.........he excelled and NEVER missed a start. Even broke all of Marino's records and got a ring along the way. (were you expecting something else?) That said........I hope he does a Brady next week and blows the Jets chances of any post season success. >:D >:D Title: Re: Okay time to admit it; he is nothing more than a system QB. I don't want Brett to get injured. But I am hoping that he solidifies his career int record and takes the fumble record from Moon. What I'm scared of is Brett could probably rip both knees and he would still insist on playing like that Monty Python guy with no legs saying he was gonna kick your ass............. But I think that Brett Favre is possibly the most over-rated player in the game, and the Jets are frauds. They beat us (who showed our true colors in week two) and everyone was crowing them as the team to beat. Title: Re: Okay time to admit it; he is nothing more than a system QB. Post by: Defense54 on September 16, 2008, 08:52:02 pm How is he over rated when he holds most of the NFL passing records and never misses a start? And he's got 1 thing Danny boy never got........Jewelry. ;)
Title: Re: Okay time to admit it; he is nothing more than a system QB. Post by: Dave Gray on September 17, 2008, 02:39:19 am I'm not saying that he's over-rated in terms of being an important QB to the history of the game. ...but his play NOW, at this point in his career isn't up to the hype it receives.
His jewelry and all his records don't make him any better when he hits the field next Sunday, where I find him to be a good, but not great QB. Title: Re: Okay time to admit it; he is nothing more than a system QB. Post by: jtex316 on September 17, 2008, 09:13:50 am He's thrown almost 300 INT in his career. Because it's Favre it's caled "Gunslinging". Any other QB it would be called "waivers".
Title: Re: Okay time to admit it; he is nothing more than a system QB. Post by: Defense54 on September 17, 2008, 11:05:48 am Fair enough ^
But sometimes that Veteran instinct and leadership can go a long way too. Man I wish Marino had another season or 2 in those bad knees. We really had a great deffense just starting to develop when he left. Title: Re: Okay time to admit it; he is nothing more than a system QB. Well the same can be said about Tom Brady. Tom will suck in anybody else system! Title: Re: Okay time to admit it; he is nothing more than a system QB. It was almost an extra full season up until that point. If you hang around long enough you can break records, but that does not mean you are neccessarily on the top of your game anymore. Still players like Vinnie Testeverde haven't won any records. Thats said some credit needs to be given for any player with as many starts as Farve in my book. It does say something though when he wanted to comeback and he was traded. They seemed almost relieved. Title: Re: Okay time to admit it; he is nothing more than a system QB.
