Title: New England 13.5 pt favorite. Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on September 15, 2008, 10:08:00 am http://www.footballlocks.com/nfl_lines.shtml
I am Patriot homer. And I say that is out of whack. Cassel is not that good and the Fins are not that bad. Title: Re: New England 13.5 pt favorite. Post by: fyo on September 15, 2008, 10:27:31 am I disagree... and I somewhat think you're fishing here and deliberately misstating your position ;)
No way do the Phins cover the spread. If I had to place a bet, it'd be on NE-13.5. Title: Re: New England 13.5 pt favorite. Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on September 15, 2008, 10:30:43 am ^^^ No I am not, I predict the Pats will win, but I don't expect them to cover.

I'm telling ya, even a broken clock is right twice a day... Title: Re: New England 13.5 pt favorite. Post by: Dave Gray on September 15, 2008, 02:10:37 pm This score will have everything to do with how long Bellichek keeps his foot on the gas. They can torch us by 30 points, easily. It's just a question of how Bellichek wants to play it. He can get a lead, and then carefully protect it, because he's got an inexperienced quarterback that he doesn't want to get rattled. ...or he can choose to have the guy hit us hard to build his confidence.

I don't think Matt Cassel can torch the Dolphins by 30. But as for how BB will play it, have you ever seen him take the the foot off the gas? His motto is "the best way to protect a 28 point lead is a 35 point lead." Title: Re: New England 13.5 pt favorite. His motto is "the best way to protect a 28 point lead is a 35 point lead." Yes, but he said this with complete confidence in his offense. If he thinks that Cassel might turn it over and cause problems, he might be more conservative than he was with Brady. Title: Re: New England 13.5 pt favorite. Post by: StL FinFan on September 15, 2008, 02:48:22 pm He might (big might) be more conservative because he has already lost one QB for the season,
Title: Re: New England 13.5 pt favorite. Post by: gocowboys31 on September 15, 2008, 02:57:21 pm 20-10 pats. The pats don't have enough confidence in Cassell yet to unleash him. The pats will make enough plays to keep miami at bay.
Title: Re: New England 13.5 pt favorite. Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on September 15, 2008, 03:06:42 pm If the Pats win by by more than 10, it will be because the Pats defense got more TDs than the Dolphins offense.
Title: Re: New England 13.5 pt favorite. Post by: Brian Fein on September 15, 2008, 03:11:42 pm If you're ever going to give Cassel a chance to unload, this is that chance. Why not let him take a shot downfield when Randy Moss will be standing 50 yards away all by himself? Patriots 73 Dolphins 6 Title: Re: New England 13.5 pt favorite. Post by: Pats2006 on September 15, 2008, 11:04:50 pm Pats 27
Miami 10 Unleash Cassel. Let him get the ball to Moss before he gets mad. Welker looks like Cassel's go to guy. Welker can have just as much fantasy value points as Moss this year now with Brady out. Pats D will get to the phins in this game and Cassel will look like a star in this one playing one of the worst teams in the NFL. I say Pats cover the point spred 13.5 Title: Re: New England 13.5 pt favorite. Post by: EDGECRUSHER on September 15, 2008, 11:34:10 pm Not on the road with Pennington can Miami cover, we have no offense. In 2 games we have had no running game and the Patriots still have a good defense. Their offense is lacking without Brady, but winning by 2 TD's seems like a lock.
Title: Re: New England 13.5 pt favorite. Post by: Philly Fin Fan on September 15, 2008, 11:41:21 pm New England easily wins by over 14. I'm sure they are watching game tape from yesterday and figuring out how to dismantle Miami's secondary.
Title: Re: New England 13.5 pt favorite. Post by: phishphan on September 17, 2008, 12:38:38 am I think Belichick will take advantage of a weak secondary and feed Moss the ball early and often. Welker too. He had to play it relatively safe last week (on the road, better defense) but he doesn't have to concern himself with that this week. Plus he has to get Moss involved at the risk of losing him for the whole year. Also, as bad as we have been offensively it's realistic that they cover with just the two touchdowns. I don't think it's that bad, but worth considering.
Sadly, 31-7 Title: Re: New England 13.5 pt favorite. Post by: Pats2006 on September 21, 2008, 03:04:34 pm Pats 30 Miami 38 Unleash Cassel. Let him get the ball to Moss before he gets mad.
