Title: Ex-Dolphins QB named starter Post by: fyo on September 17, 2008, 05:27:46 pm Yet another ex-Dolphins quarterback has been named the starter for another franchise, although considering it's the
Gus Frerotte... in case anyone hadn't heard... is taking over for Tavaris "Worst Starting Quarterback since Kurt Kittner" Jackson. Title: Re: Ex-Dolphins QB named starter Post by: Phishfan on September 17, 2008, 05:31:01 pm These guys play for the Vikings.
Title: Re: Ex-Dolphins QB named starter Post by: fyo on September 17, 2008, 06:04:23 pm These guys play for the Vikings. DOH! Not sure why I wrote Bears... maybe because they're both pretty good teams with horrible quarterbacks? Aw, h*ll, I have no good excuse. ;) Title: Re: Ex-Dolphins QB named starter Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on September 17, 2008, 07:10:09 pm If he's any better than Jackson, the Vikes are good to go.... they've got so much talent at other positions, they could very well end up going all the way with good QB play.
Title: Re: Ex-Dolphins QB named starter Post by: Thundergod on September 17, 2008, 07:39:05 pm Tarvaris should have sat his first year, those 2 games ruined his career. :D
KIDDING PEOPLE! sheesh Title: Re: Ex-Dolphins QB named starter Post by: dolphins4life on September 17, 2008, 08:25:24 pm Why did we play Frerotte so heavily in 2005?
We knew he wasn't quarterback of the future Title: Re: Ex-Dolphins QB named starter Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on September 17, 2008, 08:26:53 pm Why did we play Frerotte so heavily in 2005? We knew he wasn't quarterback of the future Because Nick the Prick wanted to be competitive while building for the future. That 9-7 record disillusioned a lot of people. Jim Gray was dead accurate when he said the team was not as good as their record indicated. FYP Title: Re: Ex-Dolphins QB named starter Post by: fyo on September 18, 2008, 03:46:15 am FYP The two are not mutually exclusive. Your version is, however, much less telling in that the claim is reduced to "worst starting quarterback since sometime last season". That doesn't exactly cover a lot of quarterbacks. I also think you're wrong. Tavaris Jackson had a 70.8 passer rating last year and a 64.8 rating when he was benched this year (i.e. now). In his rookie season (started 2, played in 4), he had a passer rating of 62.5, almost exactly the same as Beck (half a point less). One big difference: Jackson actually had (and has) a good team around him. Beck had crap. |
