Title: Just a thought about Pats Fans........... Post by: Defense54 on September 21, 2008, 11:22:14 pm OK. The Dolphins have not won a Superbowl in over 35 years. We were 2-19 out of the last 22 games. The Pats have won 3 Superbowls this decade and are like 19-2 out of thier last 22 games. Whats wrong with this picture: Quote FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Fans booed the Patriots. Many left early. And THEY say Miami Fans suck? ::) Geez.......... :| Title: Re: Just a thought about Pats Fans........... Post by: StL FinFan on September 21, 2008, 11:23:41 pm None of the bandwagon fans remember what it was like when the Patriots sucked.
Title: Re: Just a thought about Pats Fans........... Post by: simeon on September 21, 2008, 11:33:12 pm When was the last time the Patriots got beat up like this? I guess it's tougher to win if you don't know the signals.

...and missing your starting QB. Title: Re: Just a thought about Pats Fans........... Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on September 22, 2008, 07:27:36 am ^^^ ...and missing your starting QB. QFT. Losing your starting QB does a lot of damage to your team, both talent wise and psychological. Just ask the 2002 Miami Dolphins. Title: Re: Just a thought about Pats Fans........... Post by: Defense54 on September 22, 2008, 09:27:21 am QFT. Losing your starting QB does a lot of damage to your team, both talent wise and psychological. Just ask the 2002 Miami Dolphins. Or the 72 Dolphins. You either have a great team or you don't. Reguardless.....you would think the Fans would be just a bit more appriciative of what the Team has acomplished. Title: Re: Just a thought about Pats Fans........... Post by: MaineDolFan on September 22, 2008, 11:18:14 am Kind of funny. My buddy was supposed to sell me his four season tickets to this game so Tony and a couple others could go to it. He bailed on the sale a couple weeks ago, deciding that he wanted to go.
Keep the following issues in mind: Gillette Stadium is about a two hour drive home to Southern Maine - and that's if there is no traffic (1). The game was a 1pm game (2). 1pm: A text message arrives on Maine's phone. The message says "the ass beating starts now!" Message is from my friend who is at the game. 1:10pm: A picture arrives on my phone of the Pats lining up at the 50 after Hobbs' kickoff return. "Ugly quick!" is the text with the picture. 1:25pm: After Miami's touchdown a text that reads "lucky. Final score will be Pats 57-7." Silence after that text. 4:15 pm: Mrs. Maine, Abby and I went apple picking. The orchard is in New Glouster, which is about 10 minutes north from Portland. I turn the corner to grab a basket and my friend is standing there with his fiancee. He is still wearing all his Pats gear. "Dude...not a word!" Off he goes. Either he drove 175mph all the way home or he left after the first series to start the second half. And THIS is the fan base that the Pats have. Funny. He can dish out all the smack he wants but you are not allowed to say a word to him. Title: Re: Just a thought about Pats Fans........... Post by: DZA on September 22, 2008, 12:45:59 pm It was Sad to see how many so-called Pats Fans just up and started leaving during the 3rd and 4th quarter. Hello, the pats suxed at one point too but guess these band wagon ass-hats dont remember that. And they say Miami Fans sux--pfffffff at least we Fin fans didn't turn heel when facing an season of infamy.
Title: Re: Just a thought about Pats Fans........... Post by: Philly Fin Fan on September 22, 2008, 12:49:52 pm I'm a little confused about this thread. This is something I see happening all over the NFL. If the home team is getting trounced, the fans usually clear out.
I would've been more shocked if the Pats were winning and the fans left (as I have seen happen at Fins- Jets games at Giants Stadium, where the Jets fans left since they were winning) Title: Re: Just a thought about Pats Fans........... Post by: SportsChick on September 22, 2008, 01:05:30 pm Um, hate to break it to y'all but I've been at Dolphins game when fans leave quite early when they're down. Not sayin' it's right, cause I always stay to the end of the game, but this isn't exactly a new practice that happened for the first time in Foxboro last night.
Title: Re: Just a thought about Pats Fans........... Post by: fyo on September 22, 2008, 01:44:42 pm How many Dolphin fans were left in the stands that December Sunday 3 years ago when we came back and beat the Bills?
Bills score a SAFETY, of all things, in the third quarter bringing the score to 23 to 3 and injuring Gus Frerotte in the process. With 4 minutes left of the third, Rosenfels steps under center and most of the fans who hadn't left already probably scrambled to find their car keys when the Dolphins failed to capitalize on a Sam Madison interception deep in Phins' territory, instead stalling on the Buffalo 9 and turning the ball over on downs. What followed, of course, was one of the biggest comebacks in Dolphins history. With less than 12 minutes left the rally started and the Phins went on to win 23-24 with the final touchdown coming with just a few seconds left. Title: Re: Just a thought about Pats Fans........... Post by: Defense54 on September 22, 2008, 02:50:07 pm I was at the Bills game and about 5 seats up from Chambers when he cuaght that sick ball 1 handed from Sage. My Point is that The Dolphins have sucked the last decade. Most teams are lucky to get to the Superbowl once before they need to revamp. The Pats had 4 Bowls and won 3 of them. Last year was as lucky as strek as ever until that last game of course......... :D, anyway you would think the fan base would be just a bit more apprciative. Guess not..........
Title: Re: Just a thought about Pats Fans........... Post by: Defense54 on September 22, 2008, 02:51:43 pm Quote Silence after that text. Oh I hope you stuck it in his ass and broke it off. I LOVED it when they scanned the field and showed the Pats fans litterally crying.........if only they were Jets fans. :D ;D >:D Title: Re: Just a thought about Pats Fans........... Post by: Dave Gray on September 22, 2008, 03:22:18 pm How many Dolphin fans were left in the stands that December Sunday 3 years ago when we came back and beat the Bills? I know that Brian Fein and I were there. Fan leave. I don't, but I can't really fault them too bad. It's entertainment, and if you don't want to sit through the pain for the slight possibility of a comeback, you shouldn't have to. Title: Re: Just a thought about Pats Fans........... Post by: Sunstroke on September 22, 2008, 03:27:32 pm How many Dolphin fans were left in the stands that December Sunday 3 years ago when we came back and beat the Bills? I remember looking around at the half empty stadium in the 4th quarter of that game and thinking what a great ending that all these people are missing. Title: Re: Just a thought about Pats Fans........... Post by: bsfins on September 22, 2008, 03:54:03 pm If I'm a t a game in Dolphins stadium...My ass isn't leaving....They may have to ask me to vacate the premisise...Then they May be arresting me for trying to steal the seat and taking it home with me....I'll have to drive down,I could only imagine what the airline would charge me to take the Seat with me....
Title: Re: Just a thought about Pats Fans........... Post by: Brian Fein on September 22, 2008, 03:57:09 pm Here's the thing about fans leaving.
How many fans call themselves "die hard" in an effort to prove they're not fair-weathered? How many fans support their team through good and bad? From the looks of it, not many. Its easy for fans to sit through the good times. But as soon as things turn bad, they want nothing to do with it. Doesn't sound very "die hard" to me. Title: Re: Just a thought about Pats Fans........... Post by: Pats2006 on September 22, 2008, 05:46:24 pm Win or not ill allways be a die hard pats fan. Have been.
Just as I have been before the Red Sox started winning! Title: Re: Just a thought about Pats Fans........... Post by: Tenshot13 on September 22, 2008, 08:03:48 pm [hijack]
