I love it!

They had all of 2007 and an entire training camp to learn his system and now they're going to switch coaches and take the rest of 2008 to get up to speed?

I love it!  I hope Al Davis lives forever!

Al Davis, you're a tool. I'm with RTW, I hope you live a long long time. Any bets on who'll coach next year?!  HA!

After that choke job in Buffalo, that would not surprise me at all.  He's young and has had almost no experience on the NFL level.  He had no business taking this job in the first place.

I like Kiffin and I think he's bright. Oakland was a wreck when he took over and since the blowout to the Bronc-hos in Week1, they have played very hard. They have a young team so it's going to take some time but I believe he's the right person.

Al Davis is senile. It's pathetic. He should put the Raiders in a trust and retire or do something.

Great move Al. Fire your coach three games into the season and then expect Oakland to go to the playoffs. You've turned a historic franchise into an NFL laughingstock.

Just lose baby!

I'm with ethurst on this one...I think Lane Kiffin is a very smart young coach who deserves a better situation and a better owner than Al "Methuselah" Davis.

I hate the Raiders quite a bit though, so I sincerely echo the "hope Al lives forever" sentiment. ;D

Lane Kiffin's clock management at the end of the BUF game was pretty horrible.

Not as atrocious as Trent Edwards' game management (after that Pass Interference call on the tipped pass), but close.

After that opener against Denver, the Raiders could have caved in.

But it looks like they have rallied around Kiffin and are playing better ball. It looks as if they are starting slowly and at least will give people hell with the team they have.

Bill Cowher was 35 when he started coaching the Steelers but he had the benefit of coming in on the heels of Chuck Noll. Cowher had talent to work with.

Don Shula was 33 when he took the Baltimore Colts job. He had Johnny Unitas and Raymond Berry.

Even Jon Gruden in his time in Oakland had Napolean Kaufman, Tim Brown, James Jett and Jerry Porter.

But who did Kiffin have last year? Warren Sapp was at the end of the line so Kiffin really had no talent. Justin Fargas was a discovery. It was the Fins that made him famous.

I hope that Kiffin gets fired and gets his money. He can go somewhere else and build a contender. The guy feels and looks like he's going to be a great coach.

This is the same Al Davis who hired a guy only to tell him that he didn't like his West Coast offense philosophy and that if he didn't change the offense he would fire him. He said that this coach would never make it big in the NFL.

That ex-Head coach for the Raiders was Mike Shanahan.
