New England’s last loss before Sunday was a 21-0 defeat to, yes, the Dolphins in 2006. From New England's perspective, it’s the only time the Patriots had been held scoreless since Week 1 of the 2003 season – a stretch that included two Super Bowl victories and the two longest win streaks in NFL history.
 
From Miami's perspective, that 21-0 win over the Patriots was the organization's first and only shutout since Week 1 of the 2000 season

The Patriots surrendered 38 points to the Dolphins Sunday. From New England's perspective, it's the most points they’ve surrendered in a regular-season game since a loss to Peyton Manning and the mighty Colts in Week 9 of the 2005 season (40 points).

Even when the Dolphins are doing horrible and NEP are doing very well, the Dolphins manage to win one of the two games.

2006:  Pats 12-4; Fins 6-10;  1-1 against each other
2005 (that year both teams were decent and split) Pats 10-6; Dolphins 9-7
2004 Pats go 14-2 (one of those losses, Fins 4-12) Pats win SB
2003 Pats won both; Pats 14-2 ; Fins 10-6 Pats win SB
2002 split; Pats 9-7 Fins 9-7
2001 split Pats 11-5; Fins 11-5 Pats win SB

Fins tend to win one of the games even in years when the Fins are pretty horrible and the Pats have a great record such as 2006, and 2004.

Ummm I assume all of these facts are predicated on the regular season only? Because by my count the Pats were on a 2 game win streak going into last week.

and 2005 the 'fins weren't decent, they squeaked out a few at the end as I recall.  I remember ALOT of frustration on this board that year.

the only team from the afc east i never had extreme hatred for was the colts which y there no longer in the east hahahaha, i have never heard a dolphins fan say "goddamn i hate the fuckin colts" but u bring up the bills, pats or jets and u'll see red

I hate the Colts. I live in Indy and they are the biggest pack of fairweathers I've ever seen.  It's sick.  Without Manning the franchise would be in LA.  I also hate him, even though he's a fantastic player.  I was sick of hearing him being compared to Marino.  Marino never had Edge, Addai, or recievers the caliber of Wayne, Harrison, and Clark.  HATE the Colts.

So there's another Dolphin fan that does.  :)

I have mad respect for Mr Manning and Coach Dungy. I was sad to see them leave the division a few years back, we always played them well.

And actually, in Belichick's first year (2000), MIA went 2-0 vs. NE.  Belichick is 9-8 against MIA since he took over the Patriots.

Add another to my number of people from NFL cities who hate their NFL teams. (And venturing a guess) adore or like the other home teams list!
