I'm really impressed by how efficient Chad Pennington has been.  It's, dare I say, Brady-like.

No, this is classic Pennington. This is the way he played when he was considered a great quarterback (way overrated). He does nothing but short dink-n-dunk stuff. That works for us, so great, but he's not going to get you down the field in a hurry or squeeze any passes in tight coverage.

We get the ball first in the second half, right?

Thank you Bill Parcells for getting rid of every last drop of garbage that jimmy Johnson injected into the fins.

What a proud first half. It's nice to watch a dolphin game and smile. This is no longer Cameron's dysfunctional bunch. Hopefully they'll keep it up in the second half, but what a fine performance in the first half against an upper tier team like SD.

Pennington isnt just dinking and dunking, look at Rivers and all those darn screens, that is dinking and dunking.

Ok who is jumping on the I believe band wagon, theres room on here guys.

I just can't overstate how impressed I am with Ronnie, Ricky, and the O-line. The Bolts are on their heels trying to figure out how to stop Miami's running game. When is the last time we could say something like that? Great first half.

He leads receivers well and he can throw it low and out of the way. He can't "thread the needle" (neither touch nor power) and his long passes have a LOT of air.

Don't get me wrong, I like Pennington. Even when he was a Jet... although it pains me to admit it. I just didn't like the way he was considered one of the best quarterbacks at one point due to his inflated passer rating. You can't really compare the play he delivers with a team that consistently goes down the field.

I want Miami to run the score up. If any team can come back, San Diego can.

simeon, NONE of us here are bandwagoners.  We all suffered through 1-15 last year

I've been impressed with Goodman so far...Ronnie is the man...can't believe the Wildcat is still working for them...OL is gelling....Lets come out strong in the second half.

But, if we win this and our next two games, I'd bet that we will have a bunch of new 'lifelong' fans joining the board.

I am not accusing anyone as being a band wagon fan, I just think we are in the doom and gloom mode from last year, we need to start believing and this is the wagon I speak of.

You can be "on the bandwagon" without being a "bandwagon fan".

I predicted 5-11 this year, but if revising that up a bit means I'm on the band wagon, so be it. Don't get my wrong, at this point I'm only willing to say that the playoffs are "possible." These guys still have a long way to go.

Ronnie rips off a nice run from own 7, despite a Charger crashing through the line WAY early.

I said we'd go 10-6 this year and win the division back before the season started...I also said we'd beat the Chargers...lets keep it up...games not over yet

Camerillo is ripping the Chargers D from the slot. Fasano and Martin add another 50+ yards from TE. Like I said earlier, the problem for the Chargers isn't their corners and safeties, it's pass-coverage from their linebackers.

man ginn is SOFT... stay in freaking bounds and try to get a gd first down.

They didn't even TRY to go for the first down. They were setting up the field goal. Sparano really doesn't believe this team can get 13 yards in a single play.

With the wet field they should have gone for it.

Ginn should have put forth a bit more effort. That guy continues to be underwhelming, IMO.

dunno about punting the ball there... difference of like 20 yds field position, and all you need is one yard to keep the momentum going.

I think punting was the right call there. If we miss the first down, SD has great field position.

1 Yard on the 4th down attempt, or punt it and after 1 play they come up 4 yards short of where they would have been had we failed.....we needed to have gone for it, if nothing else to build the confidence, it would have shown he trusted his team, offense and defense...

Wow...just wow. Miami has looked so damned good the last two games. I'm not embarrassed to say that I am reeeeally starting to fall in love with Coach Sparano.

Here is this weeks best predictor almost dead on.

Damnit...I get the Dallas game. I really wanted to see the 49ers/Pats game

Didn't get to see the whole game and completely missed the Pats game, but some things that stick out in as key factors that we have not seen in a long time:

- 390 yds of offense, only 200 yds allowed
- A Dolphin's QB with a +100 rating ... holy $#it!
- Solid running by the backs
- All the above means the OL must be coming together well
- No turnovers by the QB or RBs
- We finished a game by getting first downs and had we had more time or needed it we looked like we could score on the last drive ... nice not to have to beg our defense to hold after a three and out

Would like to have seen:
More sacks and a turnover or two by our D
Better return yards (and Bess not to have fumbled)
Better ST coverage - 70+ yds on 3 KR is not great and Fields' punt avg wasn't great ... but that last punt into the endzone prob skewed the numbers

Overall, I'm proud of this team ... proud to be a fan again! I know we are not going to win all or even most of our games but we can build upon these successes and get a winning attitude ... then lookout!

A .500 record for the first time since week 16 of the 2005 season.  Man, that's been a long time coming. 

Did anyone notice how Jake Long play today?

I said it in February and I'll say it now - this team goes 9-7 or 10-6 this year.  They were this (-) close to being a .500 team last year, even at 1-15.

Miami SHOULD be 3-1 right now, the Jets loss was a fluke.

He obviously played well. No penalties on him either.

I remember a quote from a Futurama episode "When you do the right thing, no one will know you've done anything at all."

I think that's appropriate.

By the way, did everyone notice that Derek Hagen was inactive today? So much for the pro career of the all time PAC-10 receptions leader.

I thought he played very well. I tried to tunnel-vision in on him several times on obvious passing downs to see how he's developing in the two areas I wanted to see him get better...the quickness of his kick-out step and his initial hand placement on the pass rush. His kick-out step is still a little slower than I think you want from an elite LT, but it's better than it was in week one. His hand placement seems to be getting better as well (and contributed to his no-penalties), but I expected that...Jake has always seemed very coachable, and hand placement discipline is a coachable skill.
