Title: Pedictions - Miami @ Houston
Post by: MaineDolFan on October 07, 2008, 01:43:51 pm
Post 'em.  What say you?

I'm worried that this is a typical trap game.  Hopefully it doesn't come down to that.  I think Houston is a smidge better than the record indicates, they just make silly (and correctable) errors.

Miami 26-21.

I don't think Houston is as bad as advertised and we haven't been good long enough to be trapped into anything.

Miami 34

Houston 21

I like the trend...I pick Miami to lose, and they win. I can certainly hold up my end of things this week, and hope Miami can as well.

Houston: 20
Miami: 16

Go Dolphins!!

My prediction record is awful.  1 - 3 so far.

Like many of you, I think Houston is much better than their record.  Despite being winless, they are still favored by 3 points.  If I look at the teams on paper, I see two teams that are evenly matched and the home field advantage favors the Texans; but I'm going with my heart this week and hoping the Dolphins defense is for real.

Miami - 24
Houston - 21

Ronnie Brown vs. a defense that's ranked 26th against the run.  The Dolphins will pick up a victory against the Texans.

Miami Dolphins - 31

Houston Texans - 13

I'll be sure to clear time tables with you next time, tough guy.  It's not like I was asking who Miami should draft in the 4th round next year.  I'm asking about thoughts about a game being played in five days.

Schaub expected to start Week 6   Updated 10/7/08
Schaub, Matt QB HOU
News: The Houston Chronicle reports that Texans QB Matt Schaub (viral infection) is feeling better and is likely to start in Week 6 against Miami. "Matt’s still a little weak, but he should be fine,” coach Gary Kubiak said Monday. “He’s feeling a lot better today. I don’t see any reason he won’t be on the (practice) field Wednesday.”

Yes but you didn't predict against them on this board, so if they lose I will personally blame you.

Not the defense, not the offense but frimp.  The success or failure of the Dolphins hinges not on the team but what frimp posts.

Our defense has been almost funny bad against wide receivers and mediocre against tight ends. We've been GREAT against the run, though (except for runs against our left defensive end, which just happens to be Langford). This isn't entirely surprising, I know, it's what everyone would have predicted before the season -- it just seems that people seem to forget our weaknesses when we're winning games...

The only saving grace is that Houston's offense hasn't clicked yet. Their running game is dangerous (Slaton is averaging 5 yards a pop), but I'm really worried about Schaub/Rosenfels getting "hot" all of a sudden. It's a Good Thing that Houston's pass protection is as bad as it is. I'm hoping that will allow Roth and Porter to disrupt the passing game sufficiently.

On offense, I think it's a good matchup for us. Houston has had trouble sealing off the outside runs (around the ends), which just happens to be one of the things we've done really well. Ricky should have a good day.

Houston's defense has been the real concern for them this year. Hopefully, Pennington can find our receivers as well as Fasano.

We're simply not built to put points on the board quickly, so I'm hoping for a low-scoring game. If that happens, I think the Dolphins stand and excellent chance of winning. I'm really worried about Schaub's deep ball... Goodman really needs to step it up.

Dolphins 20
Texans 17

Except for that haphazard Steve Slaton comment, you were pretty damn close here.  Nice job, Denver...
