Title: Live Blog: Miami vs. Houston
Post by: dolphins4life on October 12, 2008, 12:46:52 pm
Well, can the Dolphins get to a winning record for the first time since 2005?

We'll see.

We'll also see how Houston has prepared for the Wildcat

Except for the punt return, it has been a very good showing.

I think that was Ricky's first TD this year.  He's coming into his own now.

Still, the pass defense and special teams are shaky and Ginn should be returning kicks

It's going to be nice to see Houston get their first win.

Well, it looks like a big fourth down coming up for the Dolphins.

I say go for it.  I don't think we can stop the Texans right now

Uh oh, now they're driving on us.

Having one TO left could really come back to bite us.

Maybe Sparano for SOTG?

Why on earth did we not go for it there?

That ball was right in Hill's hands.  He has to make that interception.  No excuse for not coming away with that.

Renaldo Hill has the biggest stone hands of anybody in the secondary

Anyway, it's up to Chad Pennington now.

Jason Allen and Ginn should be starting.

I don't know what Sparano is thinking

Carpenter might need to make a clutch kick

Houston is blowing our O-line completely off the ball.  They have 2 guys in the backfield on every play.  Miami just dodged a bullet.........jeez.

Wow, we got a HUGE break there.

Greg Camarillo is a quality NFL receiver.

Now, lets Ram it right down there throats

I only saw the very end.  Game switched after the Jets.  Two weeks in a row Texans had a dramatic finish.

We've won because of Pennington, but this game just illustrated why the Jets wanted to get rid of him. There's just no way to take a shot down field.

^^ they lost the game because the secondary collapsed.

Chad Pennington is the reason Miami was in this game until the end...he played outstanding, AGAIN, and people are still questioning him?  WTF?????? ::)

I'm not QUESTIONING him. He's a great short-pass quarterback. One of the best in the league. However, he doesn't have anything close to the arm strength needed to take shorts down the field. I think we should have put Henne in and let him throw a hail mary on that final play.

Just because Pennington played a great game doesn't mean he can do everything. It doesn't mean he can throw a long ball. He can't. That particular weakness naturally dictates certain aspects of the offensive strategy. I limits the play calls. That doesn't mean I think we'd be better off with someone else. I think he should start and I'm glad we got him.

It's not a coincidence that before the fourth quarter of this game, we had not converted a single 7+ yard third down.

again, the fins didn't lose because they didn't take shots downfield. they lost because the secondary sux...
first thing they need to do in the draft next year is get a big, shutdown corner.

It wouldn't hurt to get another dominating DE either.

I'm so depressed from this loss.

Anyway, I'm locking this thing down.  Please direct your comments to the Anti-Fins section
