Title: The killer Angels
Post by: raptorsfan29 on October 17, 2008, 05:52:31 pm
not the best title for the thread but just wanted to get peoples opinions from reading a book compared to watching a movie based on a book, like the book the killers angels which was turned into a movie called Gettysburg.

I read the first 10 pages and i already saw a difference. in the movie Harrison the spy goes up to Longstreet and tells him the union forces are close. In the book the same conversations are used, but in the book it is dark and raining, while in the movie it was light out, and sunny.

Also in the book Harrison mets Robert E Lee with Longstreet, while in the movie only longstreet and Lee are seen talking about what the spy said.

Anyone else watch a movie based on a book and notice differences like these.

I've never heard of this particular title, but you sure are right about movies and books that they're based on being different. I would actually prefer to read the book than to see the movie because I feel that you don't get the true story in a movie version. It's kinda like reading the Cliff's Notes. The only exception that I have seen was the Lord of the Rings movies.
