Title: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Phishfan on November 03, 2008, 06:16:03 pm Now we can see if he will live up to the hype or be a bust. I personally was never very high on him.

Derek Anderson is my fantasy QB in my other league...he hasn't put up too bad of numbers as of late either...gotta search the free agency wire I guess >:(
Oh and I hope Quinn is a bust...nothing against the guy personally, but I've gotten tired of hearing all the "Quinn is the man and I hate Ted Ginn because we drafted him instead" talk and that would shut that argument up. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on November 03, 2008, 08:40:42 pm Just snatched him up in the TDMMC league.
Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Defense54 on November 03, 2008, 10:01:14 pm Quinn is gonna be a serious QB. Y'all wait and see. :|
Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Sunstroke on November 03, 2008, 10:33:24 pm I've kept things relatively quiet about Quinn lately, because the whole "shoulda grabbed Quinn, not Ginn" got annoying even to some of us who DID want Brady in the draft. That said, let me be completely clear about what I expect for Quinn's future. I think Brady will develop into a quality starting NFL QB. I have always thought Brady would develop into a quality starting NFL QB. I think Brady will have success sooner, rather than later, now that he's got the starting job. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Pats2006 on November 03, 2008, 10:52:22 pm I'm sick of seeing his face on TV. Dumb ass commercials.
Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Thundergod on November 03, 2008, 11:12:48 pm As per tenshot (no offense dude), I'm sure damn near every Dolphins fan is waiting and salivating on Quinn's failure. I hope he does good, the Browns fans need something to cheer for.
Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Phishfan on November 04, 2008, 08:04:40 am the Browns fans need something to cheer for. You got that right. I have a friend who is a Browns fan. You should have seen the look on both our faces if we went out to watch the games on Sundays the past few years. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Brian Fein on November 04, 2008, 10:14:21 am If Brady Quinn sucks, will you all stop hating on Ted Ginn?
Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: StL FinFan on November 04, 2008, 10:15:35 am If Brady Quinn sucks, will you all stop hating on Ted Ginn? I fear some people will never stop hating on Ted Ginn even if he has 2,000 yards receiving and 21 touchdowns. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Sunstroke on November 04, 2008, 10:16:50 am If Brady Quinn sucks, will you all stop hating on Ted Ginn? That has nothing to do with how Quinn does moving forward, and everything to do with how well Ginn does... Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: bsfins on November 04, 2008, 10:32:53 am Quinn's got some nice weapons around him,for a young Qb.....I think he'll do fine,And Playing against Denver's Defense,on a short week, Probably missing Champ Bailey wont hurt his confidence either.... ;)
Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on November 04, 2008, 11:20:46 am If Brady Quinn sucks, will you all stop hating on Ted Ginn? Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: DolFan619 on November 04, 2008, 01:22:37 pm I think what's being overlooked in this thread is that Cleveland management caved into angry fans, thus the reason Quinn is starting. Personally, I believe Quinn will flop. That being said, Brady Quinn should be the last thing on the minds of Dolphins fans. In case you've already forgotten, we've got a pretty good quarterback that's been a solid leader and has given this offense a direction it hasn't had since #13 played.

In case you've already forgotten, we've got a pretty good quarterback that's been a solid leader and has given this offense a direction it hasn't had since #13 played. For the last time its not about Quinn or Ginn. Nothing to do with it. Its the fact that a team who had no stability at the Position since Dan Marino retired and that was rebuilding choose a punt returner/receiver (not even a highly rated one) with the overall Pick. Weather Quinn pans out or not, THAT was the choice that needed to be made. On the bright side its also the reason that Cam will never coach again in the NFL. Randy Mueller can blow me as well. I'll never forget the feeling of being fortunate enough to have Quinn fall that far to us to see him cast aside for Ginn & Beck. Then that season. Sorry........the wounds are still too fresh. In a way its a good thing though. Becuase that got Cam's ass fired and we got the power Trio now. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on November 04, 2008, 04:43:06 pm For the last time its not about Quinn or Ginn. Nothing to do with it. Its the fact that a team who had no stability at the Position since Dan Marino retired and that was rebuilding choose a punt returner/receiver (not even a highly rated one) with the 9th overall Pick. And that team was coming off a 6-10 season to boot. You don't draft a second or third receiver that doubles as a kick returner in the first round when you have so many needs to fill. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: StL FinFan on November 05, 2008, 10:25:22 am I wonder what it would take to get Anderson....

Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: StL FinFan on November 05, 2008, 10:59:57 am As far as I know, he does not play hockey or baseball.
Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: bsfins on November 05, 2008, 12:40:02 pm I'm sorry if this is a hijack, but to me one of the biggest missing parts in this years Cleveland Browns, seems to be Joe Jurevicius..You look at last years stats, they don't knock you out...But he was the Veteran Wr...The Clutch guy for the Cleveland offense...Stallworth has been hurt, and everything has been on Braylon Edwards,Winslow's missed time...
I think Cleveland has offensive weapons, but need someone to step and be the rudder of that offense...and err not drop the ball... Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: run_to_win on November 05, 2008, 02:07:59 pm Yes, I will, but if he completes one pass, then I will call Cam Cameron out once again. :oIt would save you a lot of time and effort if you just called out Cameron in your signature. Just something to think about. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on November 05, 2008, 08:35:59 pm :o It would save you a lot of time and effort if you just called out Cameron in your signature. Just something to think about. I did that for a short period of time last season..... then I decided that loser wasn't worthy of gracing anything with my name on it. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Rick on November 06, 2008, 09:46:19 pm Great 1st half for Brady Quinn in his debut against the shitty Denver D....Quinn is 11/15 102 yards 2 TD,0 INT, 131.1 passer rtg...he has lead Cleveland to 20 1st half points and a 10 pt lead.
Cam Camoron and Randy Mueller are douchebags ;) Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: TonyB0D on November 06, 2008, 10:25:14 pm Quinn looks GREAT!
thank god i picked up winslow for a spot start! Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: fyo on November 07, 2008, 02:23:42 am I didn't see the game, but what a great stat-line for a debut game! Looks like that year on the bench learning really paid off...
B. Quinn 23 of 35 for 239 yards and 2 touchdowns, no interceptions and no fumbles. 104.3 passer rating. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Defense54 on November 07, 2008, 07:06:55 am I think Henne will be great so I'm not nearly as sour about it as I was last year..........But Quinn will turn out to be a great Franchise QB. Cameron knows it as well and will never be a head coach again becuase of it. I'm ready to let it go.
Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on November 07, 2008, 07:36:08 am Cam Camoron and Randy Mueller are douchebags ;) Cam Cameron, you suck!!!! You were a fucking disgrace to this organization!!! I'm glad they fired your ass after only one year!!!! Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Brian Fein on November 07, 2008, 09:08:23 am from what I saw, he was "meh"
not terrible but not good. Put him against a good (or even decent) defense and I bet he crumbles Was he better then Beck in his first showing? ::) We will compare carreers in a few more years.......... :-* Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Brian Fein on November 07, 2008, 10:02:42 am Apples to Oranges.
Beck with a 0-10 team full of 3rd and 4th stringers against the Buffalo defense in Buffalo, or Quinn with a full team of starters, including Jamal Lewis, Braylon Edwards, and Kellen Winslow against one of the league's worst defenses missing their best CB. Can't compare. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Rick on November 07, 2008, 10:16:23 am from what I saw, he was "meh" Brady Quinn (starting his 1st NFL game) producing very good numbers against a shitty Denver D, is kind of like Ted Ginn (playing in his 23rd game) putting up good numbers of 7 catches for 175 yards against a cornerback playing on one leg. ;) not terrible but not good. Put him against a good (or even decent) defense and I bet he crumbles I think the key phrase in your post is "from what I saw" ....everyone that I heard talk about the game was very impressed with Quinn and his ability as an NFL QB... I watched the WHOLE game and thought Quinn looked GREAT. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: StL FinFan on November 07, 2008, 10:21:07 am Quinn looked good (not great IMO, not all of his passes were right on). However, it was one game. He may do just as well against a better defense, he may not. I am not ready to crown him the next great thing after only one game, though.
For example, look at the game Cutler had. If you only saw stats from that game, you would think he was a world beater. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Sunstroke on November 07, 2008, 11:34:03 am Brady Quinn looked great out there, not good... He showed great poise in the pocket, especially moving around in the pocket to avoid the rush. He showed good control on his short pass, even when throwing off balance. For a kid making his first NFL start, I thought he showed as well as any first-time starter that I've seen in a damned long time. from what I saw, he was "meh" not terrible but not good. Put him against a good (or even decent) defense and I bet he crumbles So much Brady Quinn hate in you...it's scary. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: raptorsfan29 on November 07, 2008, 01:14:31 pm So much Brady Quinn hate in you...it's scary. I would say the same about Ted Ginn Jr with certain members on this board. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Defense54 on November 07, 2008, 01:22:20 pm I would say the same about Ted Ginn Jr with certain members on this board. Sorry...........he had a great game against the Bills, but he was pretty much absent his entire rookie season and most of this one. But the correct comparison is.......How has Beck done? ::) Quinn will have a great career and Cameron will never be in charge of shit again becuase of it. Its over , lets move on. (I was really looking forward to hearing the Mighty Quinn played over the speakers at Dolphin stadium though.......... :-\) Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: bsfins on November 07, 2008, 01:28:40 pm I'll say this almost any QB can look good when you're not getting hit constantly....Yeah he moved around in the pocket to avoid some pressure, but for the most of the game that I saw,He wasn't under a constant rush....
Comparing Beck to Quinn is idiotic,One was playing behind a swiss cheese line, with no weapons...The other got the luxury of learning for almost a year and a half before getting his feet wet starting with Some weapons around him,and Hank fraley, and Joe Thomas in front of him......(even thought they seem to be letting their QB down this year) I'll Give Quinn a C...Nice first game of his career, improve upon this game....He didn't wow me,but he didn't make me scratch my head either... Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: DolFan619 on November 07, 2008, 01:47:21 pm When does it end? Because, I've just about had it with some of you. For Christsakes this whole Quinn/Ginn/Cameron thing has just gotten beyond ridiculous. Miami Dolphins drafted Ted Ginn Jr. with the 9th overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. Get over it. Cam Cameron and Randy Mueller are both gone. Get over it. The Dolphins decided to pass on Brady Quinn, and Brady Quinn is now a Cleveland Brown. GET OVER IT!!! When does this silliness end? Look, there are a lot of things that Miami should've different over the course of history with this franchise, but what's done is done. You can't change it.
I swear some of you hate Ted Ginn so much, you root for his failure and continually diminish his skills as a WR and trash him personally. GROW UP GODDAMNIT!!! Brady Quinn had a good game in his first start as a Cleveland Brown, leave it at that. Don't be an idiot and sit there like a dumbass and say: "Blah Blah Blah, I hate Cameron, Ted Ginn sucks as a person and as a WR, he's just a KR, blah blah blah, Quinn is going to Canton and we passed on him." Just stop it, enough is enough. Damon Huard should've started over Fiedler, We should've drafted Anquan Boldin over Eddie Moore, We should've taken Brees over Culpepper, etc. Why don't some of you complain about those things as well, while you're at it? Quit complaining about circumstances that happened over a year ago. In case you have forgotten, the Dolphins are 4-4, and have a pretty stable quarterback situation for ths first time in years. I'm looking forward, and I'm tired of people crying about what could've been. You want to stay in the past, stay in the past. I'm moving forward with these new 2008 Dolphins, and looking forward to a very bright future. Feel free to join the rest us, crybabies. I was the first to applaud Ginn after the Bills game. But we need just a bit more consistancy then 1 breakout game every year and 1/2................. ::) Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Brian Fein on November 07, 2008, 02:36:09 pm When does it end? Both groups are wrong, and both groups define the term "message board annoyance" I would say the same about Ted Ginn Jr with certain members on this board. And it would have nothing to do with Brady Quinn, so thank you very much for yet another distracting "whole lot of nothing" BS commentary. I may not be a Rhoades Scholar or a member of MENSA, but I do realize that this is the "Around the NFL" forum, and yes Brady Quinn is a member of the NFL. That being said, you can talk about Brady Quinn all you want. Hell, you can have a Brady Quinn Appreciation Thread for all I care. The only thing is this is it really necessary to bring up the name of Ted Ginn Jr. every single time in a conversation about Quinn? You say that they will be linked together for their entire careers? The only reason that is because, you and the rest of your contingent refuse to let go of the past. Ginn is a WR, Quinn is a QB. Ginn was drafted 9th overall, Quinn was drafted 22nd overall. The men that selected Ginn are long gone. One is the Offensive Coordinator in Baltimore, the other is an assistant to A.J. Smith in San Diego. The men who selected Brady Quinn in Cleveland are still in charge. Their careers are linked again, how? If this was a debate about Manning vs. Leaf, I could understand how their careers are linked. In conclusion, you want to talk about and extoll the virtues of Brady Quinn, fine. Be my guest. However, some of us would appreciate it if you would leave a player out of that conversation, that has no business being in that conversation. Thank You, and have a nice day. I really don't care if he ends up being great or not, for the record.
1. If he played so great, why could he not throw a one yard completion on 3 and 1 and then again on 4th and 1 to keep the Browns alive. Some, not me, but some would call that a crunch time choke. 2. Who won the game? Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Tenshot13 on November 07, 2008, 06:16:32 pm ^
1. Because he's a schmuck 2. Miami's Bitc.....I mean the Denver Broncos Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Brian Fein on November 07, 2008, 06:36:34 pm The Ted Ginn Haters' Club thinks they will be forever linked.
I bet if you ask Chris Mortenson if they're linked, he'd laugh at you. I bet if you asked a Seahawks' fan the same question, he's have a similar reaction. They'll always be linked in YOUR minds ONLY. 619 is 100% correct. I asked the lame question earlier in this thread just to see what the answer was.... If Brady Quinn sucks, will you all stop hating on Ted Ginn? Yes, I will, but if he lights it up, then I will call Cam Cameron out once again. Further proof that you all only hate Ted Ginn because his name isn't Brady Quinn. Stop hating and cheer for the TEAM. None of them ever missed on 3rd down, and none of them ever lost a game. Now...go back and watch the game again, but this time, stash all that blind hatred in the closet before you turn on the TV. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Defense54 on November 07, 2008, 07:48:52 pm I don't Hold Ginn at all linked with Quinn. We needed a QB badly at that time. Mr Offensive Genius Hand picked Beck over Quinn. That's who I link Quinn too and we'll see how each of their careers play out. But I'm cool with it now because finally we got somebody without his head up his ass when it comes to Football and we got 2 great Quarterbacks. I was frustrated as hell last year and I had every right to be .

Stop hating and cheer for the TEAM. Correction, I hate CAM CAMERON because he drafted Ted Ginn over Brady Quinn.... the first of many wrong things he did. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Rick on November 07, 2008, 08:30:05 pm Just 2 more quetions on Quinn for those of you that think he played "great". I really don't care if he ends up being great or not, for the record. 1. If he played so great, why could he not throw a one yard completion on 3 and 1 and then again on 4th and 1 to keep the Browns alive. Some, not me, but some would call that a crunch time choke. 2. Who won the game? 1. Kellen Winslow choked by not catching a perfectly thrown ball by Brady Quinn on 4th and 1 ;) 2. Quinn led Cleveland to 30 points in his 1ST start in the NFL...he also had the Browns driving twice in the 4th quarter but Winslow fumbled ( in Denver territory) on one drive and a penalty negated a play that would have set the Browns up with a 1st and 10 at the Bronco's 30 midway through the 4th quarter. Clevelands defense gave up 207 yards of passing to Jay Cutler and the Broncos in the 4th quarter alone....this loss lies on the defense for not being able to stop Denver and hold the lead they had going into the 4th quarter. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: StL FinFan on November 07, 2008, 09:20:27 pm Of course, because Dan Marino never missed on 3rd and 1 and Marino never lost a game. Same with Montana, Elway, Y.A. Tittle. None of them ever missed on 3rd down, and none of them ever lost a game. Now...go back and watch the game again, but this time, stash all that blind hatred in the closet before you turn on the TV. No blind hatred here. I said and I quote myself: I really don't care if he ends up being great or not, for the record. I am just taking a wait and see attitude before I decide if I think he is "great" or "not great". Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Defense54 on November 08, 2008, 06:32:57 pm Doesn't really matter how he turns out. At that time and place in History , at the 9th overall pick in the 2007 draft, the ONLY pick for the Miami Dolphins was Brady Quinn. It was absolutely reckless to pick anyone else. Thats not Ted Ginns fault. Its not John Becks fault. But it certainly is Cam Cameron s. And he got what he deserved. A King in the ass to I95 North. The only coach in Miami Dolphin history that didn't get a second chance. He was THAT bad.

Me too...and this isn't a snap judgement based on his first NFL start, I've been "waiting and seeing" since he got to Notre Dame, and there hasn't been anything in all that time that has shaken my "Brady Quinn will be an outstanding NFL QB" opinion. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: run_to_win on November 09, 2008, 12:04:02 am Whoa toughguy....in case you do not realize it, this is around the NFL...Brady Quinn is part of the NFL... whether you like it or not Quinn/Ginn WILL be linked together their entire careers so get used to it and stop your whining and crying about other peoples opinions. ::)Yeah ... Just like Randall Hill and Brett Favre Billy Milner and Derrick Brooks Daryl Gardener and Ray Lewis Yatil Green and Corey Dillon John Avery and Randy Moss Jamar Fletcher and Reggie Wayne Eddie Moore and Anquan Boldin Vernon Carey and Vince Wilfork Ronnie Brown and Braylon Edwards/Benson Bears/Cadillac Williams Jason Allen and Antonio Cromartie etc, etc, etc. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Sunstroke on November 09, 2008, 08:41:44 am Yeah ... None of those player pairings has had 1% of the debate/discussion/bitching that Quinn-Ginn has produced. Not just from the members of this board, but from the media in general. You may as well compare jaywalking to gang rape, or filet mignon to a bacon bit... Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Dphins4me on November 09, 2008, 09:33:28 am First off its one game & they protected him. He did not go down the field with the ball.
To judge Quinn on one game either way would be wrong. Lets see where he is at the end of next year, before we judge. The best thing to happen to Quinn was that they sat him on the bench last year. Also, Quinn is playing with two great receivers in Edwards & Winslow. That will help him greatly. Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: run_to_win on November 10, 2008, 03:09:57 pm I hope... Hope is good.Title: Re: The Brady Quinn era is finally here Post by: Sunstroke on November 10, 2008, 05:08:12 pm Also, Quinn is playing with two great receivers in Edwards & Winslow. That will help him greatly. I like Braylon Edwards, but let's be realistic here. He leads the entire NFL in dropped passes, so while we can call him a talented receiver, I'll stop short of calling him great quite yet. Kellen Winslow, when he can stay healthy enough to get on the field, is a solid target, and an above average TE, but again...I'd stop short of calling him great as well. He does lead all active TEs in the career "stupid things to say to the media" category though. ;) |
