This was in my local paper today.  Thought you guys might like this.  One reporter's scenario by which the four teams end the season in a tie and the Dolphins win the Division. 

Bills (5-3): at New England (W), Cleveland (L), at Kansas City (W), San Francisco (W), Miami (W), at New York Jets (W), at Denver (L), New England (L).

Jets (5-3): St. Louis (W), at New England (L), at Tennessee (L), Denver (W), at San Francisco (W), Buffalo (L), at Seattle (W), Miami (W).

Patriots (5-3): Buffalo (L), Jets (W), at Miami (L), Pittsburgh (W), at Seattle (W), at Oakland (W), Arizona (L), at Buffalo (W).

Dolphins (4-4): Seattle (W), Oakland (W), New England (W), at St. Louis (W), at Buffalo (L), San Francisco (W), at Kansas City (W), at Jets (L). 

All the teams would be 10-6 and the fish would win the tie breaker.

No way the Jets fly to the west coast to play SF, come back home to play Buffalo, fly to the west coast to play Seattle, and fly back home to play Miami and go 3-1 in those games.  The have gone to the west coast twice this year and have lost to Oakland and San diego. 

The Pats play Arizona at home, and Arizona has been absolutely terrible on the East coast, I don't see the pats losing that game.

I really don't even want to see stuff like this untill the last quarter of the season.  I am sticking with my original hope that we end the season at no less than .500.  After the next 4 games, if I start to see some consistancy I will look at the remaining schedule and reconsider my hopes.

With that said, I don't mind looking at the other teams chances.  I hate them all, but can honestly say they all have a shot.  They are very evenly matched.  People are jumping on Favre a little too soon, IMO.  I am shocked the Pats are as good as they are considering their off-season losses and no Brady.  However, I get the feeling the Pats are going to struggle big time against division opponents.  I also agree with Tepop about the Jets travel schedule being rough to end the season.  Therefore, I think Buffalo has the best shot (of our opponents) to lead the division.

 

Ditto. As long as we beat the Jets I'm a happy camper............

If all teams in the division could somehow wind up 8-8, that would be more plausible. Still, I think the Patriots and Jets will get more than that (19+ combined). I think there's a real chance Buffalo implodes and goes 3-5 in the second half.

Is that a rhetorical question?  Right now I think you have said it at least 30 times.
