Just completed a BIG pass to Winslow..... putting the Browns in position to get into FG range, and giving me enough Fantasy points to hold my once-was-big-but-now-is-slim lead on AZ.

OK, that question about the Browns defense has been answered.

Quinn did his job though. 

  Quinn hasn't played a very good game tonight.  If Cleveland wins (and I hope they do), Brady owes Phil Dawson a steak dinner with all the trimmings.

If I was Dawson, I'd be ordering the biggest porterhouse in Cleveland, medium rare, with a pile of sauteed mushrooms, a loaded baked potato, a caesar salad and a few coldies.

OK, Quinn just engineered his first fourth quarter game winning drive.  To think we could've had this guy.

  18/36 for a 185 yds is hardly praiseworthy.  Cleveland won is spite of Quinn's bad night.  That said, I'm glad Cleveland won.  A Buffalo loss is a big help to Miami.

I'm glad we passed on Quinn (now) and I'm glad Brett Favre pulled all his stuff in the off season, leading to the cut of Chad Pennington.

But 185 yards is more than John Beck has ever thrown for in a game.

So when Dan Carpenter makes a pressure FG, you say he has "ice water in his veins" but when Brady Quinn steps up and leads his team on a game winning drive, you say his team won in spite of his bad night?

  I'm sorry if the truth hurts, but Brady's night was less than steller.  Look, I wish that Brady would've had a career game against the Bills.  Truth is, 18 of 36 for 185 yards isn't exactly what I would call exceptional play from the quarterback.  Brady could've helped make that FG much easier for Dawson out on that final drive by getting him closer, by making better throws.  Good quarterbacks step up and make plays when a team needs them the most, that's what Pennington did for Miami on Sunday in that final drive, and that's something I didn't see in Brady tonight.

I wandered over to a couple of Buffalo Bills fan sites, and the natives there are restless.  They want Dick Jauron's head on a platter and who can blame them?  This team started out 4-0 and 5-1, but has now lost four in a row and will need serious help getting to the playoffs.

Quinn was 14/36 for 185 (not 18/36).  Thats 39% and a 56 rating. 

In Beck's 2nd game he was 61% with a 77 rating.  Miami was playing at the 8-3 Steelers.  In that game Chatman led the team in rushing with 17 yards.  He had one run for 10 yards and  gained 7 on his other 10 carries.   Beck was throwing to Booker, Ginn, David Martin and Justin Peelle, which is a far cry from Edwards and Winslow.

In his next game vs the Jets, Beck threw for 177 yards, so Quinn only passed for 8 more yards than Beck ever did.

Jesus, he's 2 games into his season. I don't care if he sits for 1 or 3 years, he's basically a rook out there in real game situations.  Dude should be 2-0 as a starter if Cleveland's D didn't choke up, yeah yeah, coulda, woulda, shoulda. Hate away Miami fans, but you'd be defending his ass if he donned aqua with the same stats and players. The guy's learning. You can say he blows when he's costing his team games, or losing badly.  Pfff, like the Ted Ginn thing, this'll never end...

The funny part is that was Beck's worst game. 

No TURNOVERS, 29 points, and a game winning drive in his FIRST ROAD start in the NFL (on Monday Night Football no less) ....Yeah that's terrible for his 2nd start. ::)

How many dropped passes did Braylon Edwards have?  How many sacks did Quinn avoid by throwing the ball away (which counts as an incompletion ;) ).

Wasn't a great game for Brady on the stat sheet, but it was a win, and he showed me he can do the little things to help his team win.

At this point I would rather have Pennington and Ginn, with Henne as a back up, than Quinn.

Are people really still crying about this?  Why dont you guys cry about picking Long instead of Matt ryan, who is 10 times the quarterback than quinn is?

  Please point out where I said Quinn had a "terrible" game?  I said that he had a less than stellar game, and I felt that he missed on a few throws he should've made.  I'm sorry if that doesn't sit well with you, but so much for offering what I thought was a fair analysis of Brady's night.  Also, if Lindell had made that FG, it would be an entirely different conversation today.

That's on the Cleveland defense, not Quinn. 

And again, Quinn's stat line might not be "up there" this week, but it's the little intangibles that a stat line doesn't tell you that make a good QB. 

Quinn this Quinn that...tell you what, I'm a lot happier with Henne than if we had Quinn...Henne has a monster arm, and when he's ready, you'll see the Henne/Ginn combo that will terrify opposing defenses....I don't think Quinn really has much on his deep ball....It's not Penny bad, but still not very accurate.

Did you watch the game?  How many balls did Cleveland receivers drop?  How many balls did Brady Quinn throw away to avoid a sack?  Being a good Qb isn't just about statistics, its about making smart decsions and being a good leader on and off the field. ;)

BTW, Brady Quinn broke his index finger during the game on Monday night and was still able to lead Cleveland to a victory in the 2 minute offense....he is going to play with the broken finger this Sunday.

I hope he does, as most players respect a teammate more when they know he'll play through the pain...but I'm hearing rumors that he may sit down and let DA take it this week.

Playing with a broken index finger on your throwing hand is not just a question of playing through the pain. Depending on what "broken" is used to mean and on which part of the finger is broken, it might simply not be possible for him to hold the ball well enough and get a good enough spiral on it.

In this case, though, considering he finished the game fine and reportedly is only "slightly sore right now" and that it's "not affecting him", I doubt the finger is really broken. More likely a (small) fracture.

Not going too well for Quinn today. Glad I put my money on Houston (and since I parlayed that bet with the Jets, both money lines (!) and not spreads, I'm extra happy - yeah, sorry, but the line on the Jets was simply too good to ignore).
