It's ok, but it's dated.  I'd like to see a modern rock group or hip hop artist do a take on it.  Maybe there could be several versions.  :)

Modified to add: I downloaded it for free from the Dolphins website many years ago.  If anyone wants it, I will send it to them.

I really think most stadium/arena music sucks. I agree the Dolphins theme is a bit outdated, but isn't it fun to stand up, clap to the beat and sing that song everytime they score?

I put that it's embarrassing.

First off, the song is lame.
But, even worse than that is that we play it after every score, even when we're getting blown out.  ...and we play it when our team isn't competitive in the season.

I'd be fine with it, if they only played it after a score, in a game that we were winning, while still mathematically in the playoff hunt.  Otherwise, play something else.

"We're talkin' Super-Bowl"  ....pffft.  We won one game last year.  We had no business playing that song.

Whaaaat!?!?!  What is wrong with your two?  There is nothing more fun than when you're shitfaced with thousands of other fans singing that lame song...I LOVE IT!  And I absolutely love the first down thing...Things like that get the crowd into the game...I almost voted for "tradition" but it is so fun to do those things at the game, so I voted "fun"

I've never been to a home game.  :'(

I agree with this. Another reason to love it is because opposing teams and fans HATE it. I love the First Down! thing too.

Trivia question for you...When the opposing team gets a penalty, they play something. Its a clip of a song. What does it say, and who sings it? No looking it up, either.  ;D

  I agree with Dave.  The song is flat out embarrassing.  It's outdated, it's silly, and it's time to either get a new theme song or scrap the idea of having a time theme song completely!  Now, this is a team theme song....

IT IS GAY!!!! Every time I hear it I watch the other teams fans laugh at us! At least the JET fans rock OUR house with their chant! We need something new with some BALLS! I go to every home game and it is embarrassing to hear it play(Super Bowl ) right.

It could be worse.  You could be like the Buffalo Bills and just rip off someone else's song altogether. 

The Bills make me wanna shout?  Give me a fuckin break.  As a fan of both the Dolphins and the movie Animal House, I really think whoever was responsable for starting that should be hanged.  (remember, pictures are hung, people are hanged)

Then they compound it when they want to rub another team's nose in shit by singing "whoomp there it is."  Aside from the fact that the song was popular for about 4 seconds, it makes no fucking sense at all.  The Mrs. does not go whoomp.  She goes "unh" and "oh fuck" and "oh shit please God" and "oooh" and a number of other things and her crazy bod has gone "schlup schulp" and "pfffft" and "gulp gulp"
and so on, but there's never been a whoomp.   Ever.  This woman gushes, so I know I'm doing it right, no whoomp.  I've never even heard a porno chick go "whoomp" even if they are faking it, still no whoomp.

Then I find myself doing my best Chris Rock "Whoomp there what is, asshole?"  Stop ripping off a crappy song and get a real song for fuck sake. 

It just goes to prove my point that this community still lives in the past, and still thinks that they should get all this respect because of 1972. That fight song is never going away because Dolphins fans really truly believe it, despite the fact that they have not won shit in 35 years, have not made the playoffs in 8 years and have not even been to an AFC title game in 15 seasons.

GROW UP Miami. You are the Detroit Lions of the AFC.

Appears someone has never been to another stadium for a game?  This is league wide.  From Seattle to Dallas to Green Bay to New England.

Home team gets a first down and the stadium PA guys always says...

"That's another (insert team here)...FIRST DOWN!"

So getting back to the theme song, it's a little outdated, but hey who cares, it's original at least.

Jtex, I would think you would be more sympathetic.  The Giants spent the better part of 30 years wandering in similar darkness, the main difference being you hate our theme song/the 72 undefeated accomplishment (although I must give you props, your guys preserved it and made me a small fortune), and everybody not named Frank Gifford hates Frank Gifford.  The Jets are still wandering in darkness and all they've got is some drunk guy in a fireman hat and a stupid chant that proves they can spell a word with more than three letters.

I hate that dam theme song.  Its so 1960'sss  OMG..  I wanted to put my dam hot dog in my ear when i went to a fin Game an had to listen to that shit.  They need to stop playing it.

Since I cancelled my season Tickets I've missed it. I still own an original 45 record of it from 1966.

I'm almost positive there is/was another team that had the exact same song with the only change in team name.

It was the Oilers. The writer of the song sold it to both teams at the same time without telling the other team. Houston got rid of it after a few years, I believe.

Had to listen to that damn song about a million times when we lost 44-34 in the playoffs but I did see Marino score a rushing TD.  The Bills make me want to stab someone in the face and, yet again, Jim Kelly should die of gonorrhea and burn in Hell.
