Title: Game Balls - Miami Dolphins vs. St. Louis Rams: 11/30/08 Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on November 30, 2008, 04:08:32 pm Giving my Game Ball to secondary coach Todd Bowles. Torched by New England last week, this unit held Marc Bulger to under 150 yards passing and came up with three picks, including one that iced the game.

Torched by New England last week, this unit held Marc Bulger to under 250 yard passing and came up with three picks, including one that iced the game. Marc Bulger was coming off a game which he had a concussion. I don't know if it was more then defense stopping him, or bulger stopping himself. Title: Re: Game Balls - Miami Dolphins vs. St. Louis Rams: 11/30/08 Post by: doctord56 on November 30, 2008, 04:22:17 pm Either Davone Bess, for playing well in his first start, or Polite for several key first down conversions.
Title: Re: Game Balls - Miami Dolphins vs. St. Louis Rams: 11/30/08 Post by: Dave Gray on November 30, 2008, 04:28:06 pm I choose whoever it was that made that final INT. That play could've been the loss, and our guy made the play.
Honorable mention to echo the sentiments about Polite. He had several important runs today. Title: Re: Game Balls - Miami Dolphins vs. St. Louis Rams: 11/30/08 Post by: raptorsfan29 on November 30, 2008, 04:29:11 pm goodman for the final INT to save the game

Title: Re: Game Balls - Miami Dolphins vs. St. Louis Rams: 11/30/08 Post by: stealth3ltt on November 30, 2008, 04:39:18 pm nobody on the phins deserves a game ball, this is a 2-8 team and we hardly beat them. our recievers can't catch a ball when thrown to, or when the do catch it they fumble it (ginn). our running game is horrible and our defense couldn't stop them. A 2-8 team and we win by only 4 points. we can't even score 20 against this d. nobody could stop S.Jackson.
this team is playing worse each week as the season goes on. Title: Re: Game Balls - Miami Dolphins vs. St. Louis Rams: 11/30/08 Post by: DolFan619 on November 30, 2008, 04:42:58 pm My Game Ball goes to CB Andre Goodman. He made the game clinching INT, and the Dolphins now have 7 wins on the season.
Honorable Mention goes to K Dan Carpenter. 3/3 on FG's, 1/1 on XP's. Title: Re: Game Balls - Miami Dolphins vs. St. Louis Rams: 11/30/08 Post by: fyo on November 30, 2008, 05:25:42 pm I'm giving my game ball to the Rams coaching staff for punting on 4th and 1 with less than 4 minutes left in the 4th and down by 4 (that's a whole lot of 4s).
Title: Re: Game Balls - Miami Dolphins vs. St. Louis Rams: 11/30/08 Post by: dolphantom on November 30, 2008, 05:44:40 pm my game ball goes to the entire staff. from upper brass to the players and coaches, for the tremendous job they did so far with this team. from a 1-15 disaster, weve risen from the ashes, and become competitive again in one felt swoop. i'm proud as hell of this team , just by the shear heart they are showing this season. i think some of you are expecting too much too soon. considering last season, what weve done so fa this year is amazing. imagine whats to come......

A good point....I'm thinking they finish the year 9 and 7, and don't make the playoffs. Still, considering that last year the dolphins were the worst team in football and had the worst top to bottom roster in football, 9 and 7 would be a fantastic achievement. I thought they'd go about 4 and 12 this year. It's funny that after last year's debacle, people could actually be unhappy that the dolphins just get nosed out of the playoffs. Now, another year or two or Parcells/Ireland scheming in the front office, bringing in a few wide receivers and defensive backs from the draft and free agency....I feel guardedly optimistic about the future. Last years team wasn't as bad as people were making it out to be, and this years team isn't as good as people think. Last year's team was atrocious, and was fortunate to avoid being zero and sixteen. This year's team (the point of my earlier post) is not championship material and not really a playoff team. Rather, they are competitive and in the middle of the pack, and have found a way to win some ugly games, which is a huge advance over last year. They are also on the upswing with good coaching and good front office people, which hopefully bodes well for the near term future. But last year's team really sucked, and if not for the good work of the troika the dolphins could easily be batttling the Lions for next year's number one pick. The first half of the year they were competitive in every game, managing to lose all the close games because of idiot coaching. Title: Re: Game Balls - Miami Dolphins vs. St. Louis Rams: 11/30/08 Post by: Banshee on November 30, 2008, 06:38:47 pm Wins are WINS, baby! Think PROGRESS. Wins are coming, this year, to teams who show up with ambitious attitudes. Nobody's cake-walkin'. That fact, alone, makes me proud of our team. We're definitely on the move. Those who aren't playin' ain't gonna be stayin'. You know THAT much about Bill Parcells. Love or hate him, you have to appreciate his motivational influence. ROCK!
Next year, I'll be concerned about winning by 30-point margins. This year? Savor the wins. 8) Title: Re: Game Balls - Miami Dolphins vs. St. Louis Rams: 11/30/08 Post by: dolphins4life on November 30, 2008, 07:15:21 pm My game ball goes to Davone Bess

The first half of the year they were competitive in every game, managing to lose all the close games because of idiot coaching. And that's what shitty teams do.... find ways to lose. This year, they've impoved to finding ways to win those close games. Next year, hopefully, they'll blow out teams they're supposed to blow out. Title: Re: Game Balls - Miami Dolphins vs. St. Louis Rams: 11/30/08 Post by: StL FinFan on November 30, 2008, 10:40:45 pm I would give my game ball to Bess. He was open often and made some good catches. The secondary did nothing. The Rams beat themselves. Bulger overthrew his man time and again with no pressure on him and all day to deliver the ball. Anyone without a concussion would have picked our secondary apart. We were very lucky to have come out with a win as we could not stop Jackson to save our lives.

Tommy is right, the games we were losing by narrow margins last year, we are now winning, thanks to better personnel , players, and unselfish team play. locker room dynamic, and trust is key. something we were missing for a long time. and it really doesnt matter if this year's team is good or not. the potential is there, and we are playing with heart. Title: Re: Game Balls - Miami Dolphins vs. St. Louis Rams: 11/30/08 Post by: Kid Dynamite on December 01, 2008, 03:05:14 am The dolphins were terrible last year.... A loss is a loss and win is a win. The Dolphins found ways to lose last year. Doesnt matter if they lose by a point or 20... You are as good as your record.
The Dolphins are not world beaters this year but they are finding ways to win close ugly games and they have surprised a few good teams... For anyone to point out that they are getting worse every week is retarded. This team was 2 and 4 after 6 weeks. We are now a winning team at 7 and 5. And this is why Cam Camoron got fired. Especially with the way he lost the team in the final two weeks of the season. Word, and The Rams fans were screaming for Brock Berlin on the ride home on the radio....We got little pressure on Bulger.... Bess for me was the most impressive Dolphin...OJ Atogwe, the Guy I talked about on the show Saturdaynight was the real deal for the Rams. IMO He was all over the place... |
