On the other hand, there don't seem to be any exceptional teams in the NFL right now. The parity - or should I say mediocrity - at the top is astonishing.
Personally, I'd go with the Steelers at this point. They have some clear weaknesses, but not too many of them. They'll lose quite a lot of players in free agency, but mostly on the offensive line and considering how badly they sucked this year, you really have to question how many are worth keeping (losing Faneca hurt). Roethlisberger was sacked on 10% of his drop backs this year and that's simply not tenable. Add a young receiver if they don't resign Nate Washington, but otherwise go o-line heavy in FA and draft. According to Schefter on nfl.com, they're $20 million below cap for 2009, so that at least gives a good amount of wriggle room. (the "+4000" indicates the amount you get, in addition to your stake, when you put up $100 - quite clumsy compared to simple decimal odds, but tradition and custom are tough to change).
