Title: Terminator 4 News
Post by: VidKid on February 01, 2009, 03:59:46 pm
I was reading some good stuff from a recent interview about the new Terminator movie;

1 - McG knew he would draw criticism about him making this movie. He says it best himself
"Nobody heard 'Terminator 4' and said, 'Oh that's a great idea -- I know, let's get McG to do it!" said McG when he rolled clips from his upcoming movie in Los Angeles earlier this month. "This asshole who did Charlie's Angels, and what kind of cock calls himself McG?'"

2 - McG even went and spoke to James Cameron about making the movie:
"I didn't want to feel like the guy who gave birth to the Terminator is against what we're doing, so I go to see James Cameron to kiss the ring and tell him what I was trying to do," McG said. "He's cordial but says, 'I'm not going to endorse your movie. I reserve the right to hate it. But I wish you well, and if you're going to make a Terminator I'd prefer you make a good one to a bad one.'"

3 - Arnold may still contribute to the movie:

4 - terminator 5 in the works already;

I am getting increasingly skeptical, but I think Terminator 3 surprised me.  The ending was ballsy enough to keep me interested.

The ending left the door open for a Terminator 4

When you're dealing with time travel, there's really always room for a sequel, since you can change the timeline at any point.

But that's not even what I mean.  They just had the guts to end T3 how it needed to end, instead of making it all warm and fuzzy.  The rest of the movie was "meh", but I am glad they at least stuck to their guns with the main plotline.

supposedly McG doesn't want this to be like that either. He wants a character driven movie that doesn't rely on the effects.

I'm looking forward to seeing since the guys that worked on the Dark Knight are involved.

I'm afraid of one thing McG said, and that was 'at the end of the movie there will be people who hate it, but the idea is to make you think'.. not sure what he means, but hopefully it isn't some AI ended   ;)
