Title: Miles Austin coming to Miami? Post by: Brian Fein on February 17, 2009, 02:45:27 pm http://cowboysblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2009/02/miles-austin-to-miami.html
The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero speculates that the Dolphins will try to make restricted free agent WR Miles Austin the latest Cowboys transfer to South Beach. Personally, I wouldn't mind it, this kid's got skillz. Title: Re: Miles Austin coming to Miami? Post by: fyo on February 17, 2009, 04:01:17 pm Can't say I've seen him... or any of his 18 career receptions in 3 years.
What about Devery Henderson of the Saints? He's an unrestricted free agent, just looking for a place to land (reports are he's looking to leave). Yeah, he's not tall which is a big minus since that's one thing we don't have currently. Yeah, OK, so his skill set lines up a but too much with Ginn's, but still. Title: Re: Miles Austin coming to Miami? Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on February 17, 2009, 04:06:41 pm Austin can return kicks as well. He had a couple breakout games early in the season... then Tony Romo got hurt and Roy Williams came to town. He's buried on their depth chart. While I'd love to have him in Miami, it looks like the Cowboys are going to tender him for a second rounder. That's too high for a 4th string, unproven guy. If I'm gonna give up one of my second rounders for a receiver, I'd rather get Anquan Boldin.

Post by: fyo on February 17, 2009, 05:56:57 pm Since we're talking receivers, what about T. J. Houshmandzadeh? He's a free agent and there's not much Cincy can do to keep him, at least after they used their franchise tag on their kicker...

He'll probably want a boatload of cash.... something neither I, nor Bill Parcells would pay for a 31 year old. Plus, he's a possession receiver. Title: Re: Miles Austin coming to Miami? Post by: DolFan619 on February 17, 2009, 06:38:18 pm I would like too Miles Austin in a Miami uniform, but I'm not coughing up a 2nd rounder for him. I see number one WR potential in him, but the last thing this team can afford to do is give up a valuable second round pick when so many needs still have to be addressed.

I see number one WR potential in him, but the last thing this team can afford to deal is give up a valuable second round pick when so many needs still have to be addressed. If the Cowboys are willing to take a lower round pick for him, I'd be ok with it. No higher than 4th. Maybe we can get Bobby Carpenter too. |
