They found the boat, capsized, with one of the boaters holding onto it.  The other three are still missing.

I'm far from a boating expert or sea conditions.......but why didn't all 4 of the men just cling to the boat?  I'm guessing with the high seas it got lost fast?

I just saw a Clip of one of the guy's father....stil quite jovial,didn't seem too broken up..... ???

I am wondering why they haven't released the story from the one guy's perspective.  As soon as he was found I figured we'd find out exactly what happened, but still nothing.

He's still out of it from what I understand - dehydration and hypothermia.

He's talking. That is how they know the story. They were taking up the anchor when the boat flipped. No one had a life jacket on, but all four guys swam under the boat to retrieve them. All four guys were hanging on the boat for a bit but about 2:00 PM Sunday the others disappeared and he didn't know what happened to them.

Have you guys not heard it or do you think there is more to tell?

I'm not a boating expert either - I don't know shit about the high seas.

But something isn't right about this story. SOMETHING happened here. It's not like the boat exploded and all four guys were sent flying in opposite directions, and only 1 dude was able to swim back to the boat. Here, ALL FOUR GUYS were immediately huddled together and put on their life preservers on.

How is it that out of this quartet, only 1 dude remains anywhere to be seen? Did the other 3 get eaten by sharks? Or did the other 3 say "fuck this bullshit" and try to swim somewhere? Or were they drunk and just drowned and the last remaining dude used the bodies of the other 3 guys to save his own life?

A LOT of questions remain here, and I think there is a BIG colossal part of this story missing.

^^^ Exactly. These guys were not playing king of the raft in a pool. They were in 68 degree water with big waves. I'm surprised one of them held on.

The story doesn't sit well with me.  Last time they found a random boat with only one guy left, they eventually found out that the last guy murdered the other 3 and threw them overboard.  And people just disappeared?  Vanished into thin air....

I'm not even really trying to be a jerk about this one - but this just sounds fishy to me (no pun intended). Why THIS guy out of the 4? Was he the strongest guy or just the luckiest guy? Or did some accident happen here?

When I first heard this story of "being lost at sea", i thought "ship w/o a rudder" - a ship adrift somewhere in the ocean that they would eventually track down - OR - never to be found / heard / seen from again. When they found the guy clinging on to the overturned boat, and the other 3 missing - I was really shocked about that. Let's say some turbulent wave comes crashing in and it sends a dude 20 feet apart from the boat - can't he just swim back and re-hang on? How did they originally hang on to the boat after going under the boat and putting on the life-preservers? High seas didn't sweep them away there...

I hope they can somehow investigate this story and check out the boat. "3 people have just vanished forever in the ocean" just isn't good enough in 2009. Google Earth can map the ocean floor and we can't find 3 dudes floating somewhere? C'mon, man.

It sounds simple doesn't it, but it's not.

That's what I'm figuring. When your 50 miles out it can get quite scary even for the biggest toughest NFL Player. I'm guessing they panicked and hanging on wasn't as easy as it looked. Those big muscle bound guys are probably MORE susceptible to hypothermia and cramped up quick.

I hope it still turns out OK.......but its looking bad.

High seas like that, Joe, the wave carries you 20 feet out, and then in the time it takes you to paddle twice and swim 5 feet back, the next wave hits you and takes you 20 feet further out. You paddle a couple of times back, and then the next wave carries you further out. You see the direction this is going, and it isn't in the direction of the boat.

I don't see anything suspicious here, except the idiocy of guys who either didn't know much about boating, or simply ignored safety precautions.

^^^ Right on Stroke. The boat owner's father has said his son was an experienced boater so I am guessing that they just didn't follow safety precautions.

I just read an article where it says all of them were hanging onto the boat. After a while, two of the guys gave up, took off their life jackets and floated off.  The other took off his jacket and tried to swim towards a light he felt he saw. 

Why would they take off their life jackets?  ???

^^^Hypothermia causes disorientation.

and confusion, inability to concentrate and all sorts of other crap as the brain shuts down.

One other thing to take into consideration when attempting to put yourself into their soggy shoes. The boat is looked on in this case as the refuge point, the place to cling to...and this is all well and good, but when the waves are that high and the sea is that rough, the boat also becomes the solid object that the massive tonnage of water is slamming your head and body against, and in some cases, you start out on top of the boat, but by the time you come down the wave, it's the boat that's coming down on top of you.

Are you refering to the Bison Dele story?  What a tragedy that turned out to be. 

Drinking salt water makes you literally insane.  Your brain swells and you do stupid shit like jump out of you lifeboat into the water.  It happens all the time with this kind of stuff.

The best thing to keep you alive in crisis situation is mental control.  Keep sharp and keep making decisions and you can stay alive much, much longer.

Defense5499 has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.  And he said he was taking his ball and going home.  B is merely calling him on it which isn't a bad thing to do.  The guy said he was leaving so he is naturally going to take some good natured ribbing upon coming back.

I don't see any spot where B was "wiedling his power."  People have power here?  Really?  I personally wouldn't mind flying if powers are being handed out.

water was 62 degrees, the weather in Tampa gets pretty cold  in the winter compared to winter weather down in Miami. It was in the lows 50s threw out winter here in Tampa.

One of the biggest Problems I see here is that there is no entity here really in charge. Except for 1 voice of reason in Brian , everyone really acts is a most peculiar way. Then I read This:
