Title: Dating age range Post by: bsfins on March 03, 2009, 03:37:07 pm I know alot of the people here are married,in relationships...Today alot of the people in office, and I've seen it on yahoo, are talking about the Bachelor...I asked a few questions....He's 32,one of the girls is 26,the other was 24.....I scratch my head...I'll be 34 in August, there's no way, I even want to try to date any one under.....maybe 28-29...(most of my references, music,my life) a 24 year old wouldn't get....One of my Exes was 5 years younger than me,and we clashed on alot of our views....I admit I get along SO much better with people older than I am....
Do you have a dating range? or am I just being an old fart? Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: janetmschulte on March 03, 2009, 03:41:19 pm I don't think you're an old fart! I agree that age differences can be tough, but I think each situation is different. It just depends on each individual, and what they were exposed to socially.
Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: Buddhagirl on March 03, 2009, 03:53:58 pm I'm not dating an old guy unless he's got money. The idea of old man peen doesn't sound fun. Younger guys are generally kept as boy toys. For an actual relationship I prefer to date guys that are around my age, give or take a few years.
Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: Phishfan on March 03, 2009, 03:58:06 pm I am cool with anything from 26-40 (I am a young looking 36 myself) but I am not looking for a serious relationship right now either. I am trying to enjoy the fun aspects of dating without the hastles a relationship causes.
Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: Spider-Dan on March 03, 2009, 05:12:44 pm I heard a "rule" a while ago that seems to work pretty well. (This rule is for serious relationships, not flings.) It's supposed to give you an idea of the maximum age difference you can have without having people stare or snicker.
The lower limit should be (male's age / 2) + 9, with the upper limit being the male's age. The lower limit should be (male's age / 2) + 9, with the upper limit being the male's age. So for me...that would be 26-34? That actually would be about right, if I were single. I like it! Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: Thundergod on March 03, 2009, 06:38:29 pm I'm not dating an old guy unless he's got money. The idea of old man peen doesn't sound fun. So rich old man peen is tolerable? ;) I dunno how you chicks do it... 9 yrs. younger, that's been my record so far. Can't complain though. ;D Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: Dave Gray on March 03, 2009, 07:10:46 pm 18 and up.
Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: JVides on March 03, 2009, 07:12:45 pm 18 and up. Sure, if you can put up with stupid and drama. Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: stinkfish on March 03, 2009, 07:27:59 pm As a 33 year old. I wouldn't look for anyone older than 34, or younger than 26/7. I've always like 'em young. But not "to catch a predator" kind of young. You guys are just plain sick.
Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: Frimp on March 03, 2009, 08:16:43 pm I'm 35, my wife is 25.
Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: MaineDolFan on March 03, 2009, 08:21:23 pm Maine's laws:
18-21 = just way too young, they don't have a shred of an idea of who they are. Nothing but trouble in this age brackett. 21-24 = the "legally able to drink and MUST be at a bar of some kind and partying ever hour" stage. Also generally flat broke. No thanks. 24-27 = starting to figure out who they are but still has problems with "the grass is greener" syndrome on almost ever aspect of life, including who to date. I'm sure it was a woman in this age bracket that coined the phrases "I just don't know what I want" and "it's me, not you." 27-29 = getting to an area where they have a better idea of who they are - which makes it easier for them to figure out who you are versus who they want you to be. 29 - up = a good range to really find someone that not only knows what they want but knows how to get it and keep it. For the ladies, the man breakdown: 18-99 = we're all punks. Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: dolphins4life on March 03, 2009, 08:47:14 pm I'm a single loser and I would take any girl over the consent age. Literally. ANY GIRL AT ALL!!!!
Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: BoSoxGrl on March 03, 2009, 11:17:40 pm In my single days, I refused to date anyone younger than me at all....oh, and yankees fans.
I have tried both, just not for me. Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: StL FinFan on March 04, 2009, 06:02:40 pm I heard a "rule" a while ago that seems to work pretty well. The lower limit should be (male's age / 2) + 9, with the upper limit being the male's age. So men should never date an older woman? That's stupid. IMO, it's not your age that matters, it's your maturity level. Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: Gabriel on March 04, 2009, 06:15:40 pm I have one rule. Never date anyone over the age of 35.

Then you're missing out baby. :-* Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: Househead on March 04, 2009, 06:42:31 pm You know what they say....if there's grass on the field play ball....
But, in all seriousness, I am almost 32 and would consider a dating range starting mid 20s to mid 30s. My gf is 33. Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: Spider-Dan on March 05, 2009, 11:36:45 am So men should never date an older woman? That's stupid. Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: Frimp on March 05, 2009, 12:06:03 pm The longest relationship I've ever had with an older woman was 10 months. That was the longest by far. Every other older woman I've dated lasted less than 3 months.
Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: Dphins4me on March 05, 2009, 01:20:10 pm I do not think you put much of a limit on their age. I'm 43, wife is 38. Been together for 11 Yrs. Their maturity level is what you should look for.. Some 32 Yr old woman might not be as mature as a 25 Yr old. Consider age, but I would not toss on aside just because she may be 24. If you go out & she is a 24 Yr girl & not a woman then move on.

In your face Runz! ;) Title: Re: Dating age range Post by: bsfins on March 06, 2009, 02:56:47 pm I'm a social, dating, relationship retard..(I do everything Wrong!)...So I figure, the more we have in common the better....
