Title: Your Handwriting! Post by: bsfins on March 16, 2009, 12:34:23 pm I was in Court this morning, and scratched a note to one of the lawyers...He studied it like it was some type of Hieroglyphics, looks over at me with a very confused look on his face....He passes the note back with a Big "?" I wrote it again, with more detail...So then we're all walking out,and My boss is laughing talking about my chicken scratching...He said first off,He thought I passed him a blank piece of paper (it's so small) the second one was bigger, but not legible...Then I realized..that's probably the first time they've seen my handwriting...When I take notes interviewing a client (if I am,or one of the the main interviewers) I either do it by memory, and as soon as I'm done I type out the majority of convo on the laptop. ( running to a conference room,or in my truck) Then type up the gaps, sitting on my couch later that night...
I can't even remember the last time I wrote more than my name in cursive (Maybe Sincerely,or Happy Birthday,Happy Mothers day..) I do 90% of my writing, err typing....I scratch notes like grocery lists, but that's about it... So what does your handwriting look like? Mine is Tiny, I could probably write a 2,500 word essay on the front side of of a narrow ruled notebook paper.Very messy, and everything is always printed.... Sidebar, random thought... I always loved those reading those girls that always had that Loopy Cursive had a girl that used to write me notes in high school, that had that Loopy cursive...It's funny,I see alot of handwriting now,but hardly ever run across women that do write like that anymore...So I wonder if they grow out of it...where they all went! Title: Re: Your Handwriting! Post by: StL FinFan on March 16, 2009, 12:52:44 pm I became a doctor. Seven years of taking notes will really screw up your handwriting. ;D

Title: Re: Your Handwriting! Post by: Buddhagirl on March 16, 2009, 01:37:02 pm Lil B, I think you would like my handwriting. Kind of girly looking. Lots of loops. Fat letters.
Most of my notes and stuff for class are in print, though. Title: Re: Your Handwriting! Post by: Brian Fein on March 16, 2009, 01:49:25 pm I don't think anyone writes in cursive anymore. It seems outdated. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that typing is not in cursive and that the "print" letters are more familiar due to the popularity of computers.
That said, I always feel weird writing. My hands are so conditioned to typing (either on a keyboard with my fingers or on a phone with my thumbs) that writing with a pen feels odd to me now, and I almost have to re-teach myself how to do it. I really struggle because I can't write as fast as I can type, and in trying to write faster it becomes a scribbly mess. Title: Re: Your Handwriting! Post by: StL FinFan on March 16, 2009, 01:51:34 pm I have to write all the time in medical records. I can't wait until we get computerized. I can type a lot faster.
Title: Re: Your Handwriting! Post by: Dave Gray on March 16, 2009, 01:54:55 pm I used to have really neat handwriting. If I'm sitting and writing a letter, I still do. However, when I'm just taking notes, often my writing is terrible.

Nowadays, the only cursive writing you do as an adult is to sign your name. IMO, they should take cursive writing out of schools, except to teach kids how to write their name in cursive. I disagree.Everyone should know how to write and read cursive, because it does exist, but the "choice" to write cursive should be just that - a choice. Title: Re: Your Handwriting! Title: Re: Your Handwriting! Post by: Dave Gray on March 16, 2009, 04:24:55 pm I actually like cursive, and if I'm writing anything of length, I'll choose that format. It's must faster and more cohesive. I have adopted an all-caps/print hybrid for most of my short stuff.
Title: Re: Your Handwriting! Post by: bsfins on March 16, 2009, 07:42:41 pm My mom is really big into, your handwriting can tell alot about you...I don't know....I know mines horrible.... :D
Title: Re: Your Handwriting! Post by: janetmschulte on March 16, 2009, 10:45:31 pm I have really neat handwriting. The only time it can get a little sloppy is when I am trying to write quickly. My cursive, however, hasn't changed since elementary school! My signature looks like that of a 3rd grader! :)
