Title: ESPN's 'Round the Horn' & 'Pardon the interruption' Post by: Chopper on August 07, 2009, 10:01:31 am Are these really popular shows in the States? Or 'schedule fillers'?
Title: Re: ESPN's 'Round the Horn' & 'Pardon the interruption' Post by: Brian Fein on August 07, 2009, 10:09:16 am People like these shows. I never really got into them. PTI seems to be the more popular of the two. I am very rarely in front of the TV when they're on but I catch it occasionally. In general, i'd say they are pretty popular...

Title: Re: ESPN's 'Round the Horn' & 'Pardon the interruption' Post by: SportsChick on August 07, 2009, 10:18:25 am I listen to one or both depending on what time I leave the office on my Sirius. They're on the ESPN channel (not to be confused with ESPN Radio)

Title: Re: ESPN's 'Round the Horn' & 'Pardon the interruption' Post by: BingeBag on August 07, 2009, 10:41:27 am I listen to one or both depending on what time I leave the office on my Sirius. They're on the ESPN channel (not to be confused with ESPN Radio) What station #is the regular ESPN channel? Title: Re: ESPN's 'Round the Horn' & 'Pardon the interruption' Post by: Phishfan on August 07, 2009, 10:43:12 am I find them entertaining but don't make special effort to catch the shows. I work from home so I usually sit down for a bite to eat about that time and turn on ESPN.
Title: Re: ESPN's 'Round the Horn' & 'Pardon the interruption' Post by: Sunstroke on August 07, 2009, 11:03:22 am I watch Around the Horn more than PTI these days, but think both are good sports-talk shows. I won't go as far as Tivo'ing either of them, but I watch them most days when I get home from work. I sure wish they would have had an ESPN channel when I was stationed at RAF bases in the UK ('83-'84), because there was literally "nothing" on British TV that was worth watching at that time. Title: Re: ESPN's 'Round the Horn' & 'Pardon the interruption' Post by: Dave Gray on August 07, 2009, 03:39:47 pm I watch PTI every day. It's a good way to get plugged into the major sports stories, and it's mixed up with their kooky personalities. I like it a lot.
Title: Re: ESPN's 'Round the Horn' & 'Pardon the interruption' Post by: JVides on August 07, 2009, 03:48:26 pm I'll catch Around the Horn during football season, but I always watch PTI (Actually, I record it on my DVR and watch the 8 minute version).
Title: Re: ESPN's 'Round the Horn' & 'Pardon the interruption' Post by: Chopper on August 07, 2009, 07:50:02 pm Thanks for the input people! When I asked, I half expected a negative reaction, cos when I first caught these shows I wasn't very impressed. To be fair, I'm very 'anti' sports discussion programs over here, so I guess that was colouring my impression, added to the fact that I wasn't fully concentrating, so I was just picking up lots of shouting & bickering...
As they got a decent rep here, I paid them due attention tonight - and enjoyed them both! Not to mention adding to my knowledge whoohooo. Title: Re: ESPN's 'Round the Horn' & 'Pardon the interruption' Post by: bsfins on August 07, 2009, 10:52:28 pm PTI>>Around the horn....I'll turn them on in the break room, and listen to them in my office....
