Title: Nice outing from Buchholz Post by: MaineDolFan on August 13, 2009, 03:58:00 pm I haven't been afraid to voice my opinion that I think Justin Masterson is an overall better prospect than Clay Buchholz (and that Boston made a mistake by trading him). He's throwing very well thus far in Cleveland, too.
That said, Buccky keeps tossing the way he is and he'll make a believer out of me. Yankees game he went 6 and 2/3 with four hits, 1 ER and 5 K. Today against Detroit he went 7IP, 5 hits, 1 ER, 3 K. Not a bad line at all. Boston REALLY needs to get 7 out of their starters for a while...Clay held the line. Kudos. Title: Re: Nice outing from Buchholz Post by: EDGECRUSHER on August 14, 2009, 01:59:32 am If Clay keeps pitching well and Boston misses the playoffs by a game or two, the whole Smoltz/Penny thing will look REALLY bad. Clay shouldn't ever go back down to the minors anyway, what is left there for him to do?
