Title: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: dolphins4life on September 27, 2009, 07:05:44 pm This time, Ginn deserves SOTG
2 key drops and no catches. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: raptorsfan29 on September 27, 2009, 07:14:09 pm Ronnie brown no question, the fumble which would have given us 7 points turned out to be 0.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on September 27, 2009, 07:14:53 pm I'm giving it to the offensive line. They kept getting manhandled by San Diego's front seven.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: dolfan13 on September 27, 2009, 07:18:02 pm tough position to come into, but henne threw a pick 6. that basically lost the game.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: doctord56 on September 27, 2009, 07:22:00 pm Ted Ginn, the girly man.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: NADS on September 27, 2009, 08:30:22 pm I'll go with the offensive coordinator. I'm begging for more running and Wildcat after watching us throw 7 yards on a deep pass. As for players I'll go with Girbil Wilson. I really thought we upgraded when we picked him up.
Henne is inexperienced. Ginn's ever-growing titanium vagina is driving me nuts, but we don't exactly use him correctly. Ronnie would have made up for the fumble if we ran him more. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: Frimp on September 27, 2009, 08:40:00 pm Gebril Wilson. He was burned big time and frequently.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: Tenshot13 on September 27, 2009, 08:45:10 pm Ronnie brown no question, the fumble which would have given us 7 points turned out to be 0. I'm still not sure if it was Ronnie missing the handoff or Penny not putting the ball in his breadbasket before he faked it outside. I give mine to Ginn. Big time receivers catch those passes. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: Frimp on September 27, 2009, 08:49:00 pm ^^^^
AVERAGE receivers make those catches. ;) Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: Tenshot13 on September 27, 2009, 08:50:22 pm ^^^^ AVERAGE receivers make those catches. ;) ^^^ Yeah, that. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: NADS on September 27, 2009, 08:58:24 pm C'mon, now. Ginn is fine as long as he's not in danger of being hit or touched. He'd be the greatest flag football player ever. Someone call Marvin Harrison!
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: Tenshot13 on September 27, 2009, 09:03:35 pm C'mon, now. Ginn is fine as long as he's not in danger of being hit or touched. He'd be the greatest flag football player ever. Someone call Marvin Harrison! Nope that's Barry Sanders...and he's still the greatest RB ever. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: DZA on September 27, 2009, 10:41:48 pm The whole damn team >:( >:( >:( >:(
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: dolphins4life on September 27, 2009, 11:41:07 pm Ginn had a bad game, but still he's a fine receiver.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: doctord56 on September 27, 2009, 11:49:44 pm Ginn had a bad game, but still he's a fine receiver. I disagree. Last week, he drops the game winning TD pass. This week he has 6 balls thrown to him, and ends up with....ZERO receptions, including back to back drops in clutch time. And this is supposed to be our number one receiver with the multi million dollar contract. In no way is he is a "fine receiver"....he's just a huge disappointment. Perhaps his problem this week was a vaginal yeast infection. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: jtex316 on September 28, 2009, 08:36:39 am How about Anthony Fasano?
This guy has been a complete and total bum all season long. He fumbles twice in week 1, then he misses a big play in week 2, and in week 3 he does absolutely nothing again. For the wildcat to actually scare people and work, you need a Tight End who can be a safety valve and can block well. Fasano can't do either of these things. He is the biggest bum on the team, with Ted Gimp a close 2nd. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on September 28, 2009, 08:52:57 am Gloria Estefan, Emilio Estefan, Marc Anthony, Venus Williams and Serena Williams.
They have done nothing to improve this team and since coming on board the team is winless. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: jtex316 on September 28, 2009, 09:03:59 am Gloria Estefan, Emilio Estefan, Marc Anthony, Venus Williams and Serena Williams. They have done nothing to improve this team and since coming on board the team is winless. There actually is some merit to this. This may very well be a bad ownership situation from here on out. Bill Polian and Robert Kraft are two of the best team owners in the game, and consistently their teams are two of the best, regardless of players or coaches. Meanwhile, Al Davis's team sucks, and Jerry Jones' team can't win. How will a team owned by Gloria estefan and serena williams perform? Wayne Huizenga should re-buy the Dolphins. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: Brian Fein on September 28, 2009, 10:43:25 am If you guys are going to give Ginn the shame for not catching any balls, you HAVE To consider Fasano. Good for one is good for both. Fasano hasn't caught a ball in 2 and a half games and fumbled twice. Who's the bigger disappointment?
I'm giving the shame to Will Allen. He got beat over and over and got torched by Jackson for a deep ball. He just got burned right off the line. Honorable mention to Chad Henne for playing like a terrible QB. I'd rather have Fiedler back than Henne at this point. Bo objective. I think the problem is that you guys expect way too much out of Ted Ginn, and look for any reason to blame him. Both of the balls thrown to him were thrown poorly. I'd love to hear the argument that those two mid-range passes not being caught were the reason the Dolphins lost. Not Henne's pick-6. Not Ronnie's fumble. Not the secondary's pourous coverage. Ted Ginn's lack of amazing catches. ::) Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: Denver_Bronco on September 28, 2009, 10:55:19 am Shame of the game is whatever linebacker blew their assignment and allowed Rivers to walk into the endzone from the 6 yard line.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: Thundergod on September 28, 2009, 12:32:08 pm Bo objective. I think the problem is that you guys expect way too much out of... and will look for any reason to blame him. I have a feeling this is what the Penny lovers and Henne haters (out of spite) are about to do from now on. (Just take a look at the Brady Quinn thread) Not keeping in mind he's had no REAL game experience outside of preseason. He IS going to make mistakes, God forbid. This is his first crack at the helm on a sub-par team and coaches calling Über conservative plays. Start talking after a full season if there's no development. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: JVides on September 28, 2009, 02:27:21 pm Our safeties. Again. Were awful. Three teams, three times carved up in the passing game.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: jtex316 on September 28, 2009, 02:28:04 pm I agree with ^ except for the part about the Dolphins being a sub-par team. They are much worse right now than a sub-par 1-2 team. They are tied for dead last in the NFL at 0-3. They keep this up they may be able to draft Colt McCoy!
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: Dave Gray on September 28, 2009, 02:54:55 pm The Dolphins are better than their record indicates right now, and are not playing the worst football in the league. That said, we certainly don't look good.
I give my shame to Dan Henning. His play calling bordered on ludicrous, and never gave us any shots at scoring, when we were in the red zone. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: DZA on September 28, 2009, 03:08:48 pm I disagree. Last week, he drops the game winning TD pass. Perhaps his problem this week was a vaginal yeast infection. When did anyone say he was a sure #1 option? Do you u see a true 1 on the fins, and if so can the QB utilize their talent? I always found ginn to have great hands but that did not show against SD. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: Brian Fein on September 28, 2009, 03:34:42 pm Not keeping in mind he's had no REAL game experience outside of preseason. I've heard this story before, the kid's name was John Beck. How'd that work out?Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: Thundergod on September 28, 2009, 03:59:59 pm Which is where all the confusion sets in. Beck was in the same position, but all the Beck apologists are now acting like the Beck haters then towards Henne. Odd.
Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: JVides on September 28, 2009, 04:24:36 pm Which is where all the confusion sets in. Beck was in the same position, but all the Beck apologists are now acting like the Beck haters then towards Henne. Odd. I was (and still am) a Beck proponent, or apologist (c'mon, his name is John! He MUST be awesome!). I am also a Henne proponent now. I really hope he's the guy so Miami can focus on drafting safety, linebacker, and wide receiver help next year. Maybe a tight end, too... Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: fyo on September 28, 2009, 07:01:55 pm I've heard this story before, the kid's name was John Beck. How'd that work out? At least our offensive line has improved dramatically since then (despite waving a linebacker through for a sack against the Chargers). That's probably the #1 thing for an inexperienced quarterback. That and a good running game - which we also have. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: BigDaddyFin on September 28, 2009, 09:41:13 pm Shame of the game is whatever linebacker blew their assignment and allowed Rivers to walk into the endzone from the 6 yard line. Don't blame the linebacker for that, blame Paul Pasqualoni. He's only seen it on film about 8 times now and hasn't adjusted or made a correction yet. My vote goes to Ted Ginn for dropping a couple passes. You can't really bitch at the offensive line, quarterback got fucked up but was standing upright nearly the whole game then because of said fucking up was replaced by a first year player, the defense played well until the first year player got picked off on a throw he never should have made. Ronnie Brown had a fumble so that's probably at least HM status, and the TE's never showed up. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: CF DolFan on September 29, 2009, 08:06:39 am Which is where all the confusion sets in. Beck was in the same position, but all the Beck apologists are now acting like the Beck haters then towards Henne. Odd. I think the Henne haters are the basically the same ones who hated Beck. They expect Dan Marino to jump out there and amaze us. That certainly isn't going to happen but they can't seem to get it. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: Sunstroke on September 29, 2009, 08:48:31 am Careful with those blanket statements, CF...it doesn't get cold enough in FL to warrant their use. ;) Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: Phishfan on September 29, 2009, 08:52:08 am Ronnie Brown had a fumble so that's probably at least HM status Except that fumble goes on Pennington instead of Brown. Title: Re: Shame of the Game - at San Diego Post by: CF DolFan on September 30, 2009, 03:45:08 pm Careful with those blanket statements, CF...it doesn't get cold enough in FL to warrant their use. ;) I should have said "generally speaking" or something similar. I had actually thought of you as I typed that out so I do realize it's not everyone. It just seems we have an overabundance of "the sky is falling" mentality in the fan base these days. It's either we should win every game or we suck. There is no in between for some people. |
