Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: StL FinFan on October 04, 2009, 08:39:15 pm How can you possibly give him sotg? He wasn't great but he wasn't terrible either.
Ted Ginn 1 rec for 4 yds. He did have that 22 yd run, but we need more from our "number 1" WR. (climbing on the Ginn hate bandwagon) Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: Tepop84 on October 04, 2009, 08:48:32 pm maybe bc he only threw for 115 yards and took 6 sacks and fumbled twice. terrible. maybe he can ask teams to play a prevent defense like the cardinals did last year.
Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: NADS on October 04, 2009, 08:50:52 pm Vernon Carey I guess. It seems like he gives up a lot of sacks. Everyone played pretty well though other than Ginn and Fasano not showing up. Henne was OK I thought--nothing special but not SOTG. No turnovers which is a big plus.
Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: doctord56 on October 04, 2009, 09:49:52 pm Vernon Carey I guess. It seems like he gives up a lot of sacks. The 6 sacks given up by the Oline was bad, but the huge holes they opened up led to 250 yds rushing, which is terrific. So on balance, I can't give SOTG to Vernon or anyone on the line. I'll also go with Ted Ginn for SOTG, because he was basically invisible today. Even on his one good run, he cut it inside when he had a clear lane down the sideline and could have run forever. Perhaps his uterus was pulled on the play. Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on October 04, 2009, 10:20:52 pm I'm giving my Shame of the Game to Ted Ginn as well. One catch for four yards, and would've done absolutely nothing outside of that end around.
Honorable Mention to Lex Hilliard. We stop the Bills on a drive, and he goes offisdes. His idiocy puts the defense back on the field. Hey Lex, the coaches decided to go thin at another position to keep your ass on the roster. Stop making these stupid mistakes or you're gone. Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: JVides on October 04, 2009, 11:04:56 pm No shame today. Everyone did his job. I think most of the 6 sacks were Henne eating the ball (probably a direct command from Sparano) if nothing was open.

Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: Tenshot13 on October 05, 2009, 01:50:41 am What the hell is ginn supposed to do, throw himself the ball? Henne was terrible. The only thing terrible about this is you being a terrible Dolphins fan. Everyone played pretty well. If I had to give a shame of the game it would be to Jones for letting that TD happen. Even then, it still wasn't that bad. The team played well today. Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: Defense54 on October 05, 2009, 07:22:43 am Ted Who? Never heard of the guy. Special Teams looks like it went back to its old ways............ ::) Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: Brian Fein on October 05, 2009, 09:58:44 am You guys give Ginn the shame by default. Henne threw for 115 yards. Lets be realistic with our expectations, please? Ginn did nothing wrong in this game.
Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: Phishfan on October 05, 2009, 09:59:54 am I thought Carey looked sub par today.
Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: DZA on October 05, 2009, 10:31:37 am Shame goes to the Offensive Line
6 sacks wake up fat boys >:( >:( >:( >:( Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: Dolphster on October 05, 2009, 11:02:07 am chad henne. Chad Henne? Seriously? Why is it that people who understand a topic the least are always the most opinionated about it? Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: CF DolFan on October 05, 2009, 12:20:34 pm Why is it that people who understand a topic the least are always the most opinionated about it? That is a great line right there!!! Great post!!! Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: dolphins4life on October 05, 2009, 12:29:52 pm My shame goes to Lex Hilliard as well.
He's been a good ST player for us, but he made the only glaring mistake of the day Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: MaineDolFan on October 05, 2009, 01:24:47 pm Brian Fein.
Why? Because. Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: bsfins on October 05, 2009, 01:46:58 pm Either the Offensive line coach,Sparano,or Henning the O coordinator, whom ever keeps making the decision to keep making changes at RG,in the middle of drives....I think it kills communication, and doesn't let the line work as one unit.....Last year it was Ike Ndukwe, and Andy Alleman...Now its Donald Thomas,Nate Garner, and Shawn Murphy..I think it's doing more harm than good....
Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: Brian Fein on October 05, 2009, 02:10:03 pm My Shame of the Game goes to Patrick Turner. 0 catches for 0 yards. I expect more out of a second round pick.
Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: Dave Gray on October 05, 2009, 03:56:09 pm I think that Henne played well. 0 turnovers and a TD pass, plus he threw for several 3rd downs.
In a game where you run for almost 300 yards, your QB is doing their job by keeping away turnovers. I think you don't want anything more than that. Sometimes one player's statline is not indicative of his performance. As for taking sacks, yes, he did take several, but of all of them, only 1 was on him. Otherwise, someone missed a blocking assignment. I just-re-watched the entire game while I worked today, and Henne did very well. Some of his passes are a little off the mark, but if it means keeping the turnovers down, I am okay with that. So, my shame goes to Carey for getting burned a few times. Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: BigDaddyFin on October 05, 2009, 05:20:32 pm shame of the game goes to Vernon Carey and Donald Thomas, both of whom gave up sacks in what was otherwise a very solid game.
Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: NADS on October 06, 2009, 01:34:17 am Does anyone know what Carey is making this year? I know we resigned him so it's probably something sick. This factored into my decision.
Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on October 06, 2009, 08:08:14 am Does anyone know what Carey is making this year? I know we resigned him so it's probably something sick. This factored into my decision. I think he got about $42 million over the next 6 years. That will make him retire as a Dolphin. Personally, I think the Dolphins vastly overpaid for a slightly above average right tackle, but there was no one better on the free agent market, and the team saved a couple million by not franchising him. Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: Frimp on October 06, 2009, 06:36:12 pm Chad Henne for shame of the game? Now, I KNOW tepop isn't a Dolphins fan. Probably a Jets fan pretending to be a Dolphins fan just to get us riled up. If he had an ounce of credibility before when he was trashing Ronnie Brown, its gone now.
My shame of the game goes to the O-Line coordinator. 6 sacks due to the fact that Henne had only a nanosecond to throw. Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: NADS on October 07, 2009, 12:53:56 am $42 over 6 years is right, Tommy. It looks like $13.2M this year if I did the math correctly--good news if you're Vernon Carey. Definitely my SOTG then.
Carey's salary (plus Bell and Crowder) http://bleacherreport.com/articles/138029-breaking-down-the-contracts-of-yeremiah-bell-vernon-careyand-channing-crowder Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: Doc-phin on October 07, 2009, 11:04:59 am A bunch of ignorance in this thread.
Carey has a bad knee and was playing a speed end, thus the sack. Donald Thomas lacks a little conditioning due to the injuries and lack of practice. He needed a few breaks considering the heat and all the running the team has been doing. We are lucky Thomas has been able to do what he has done. Ginn was matched up with a healthy McGee, who still knows how to play and was their best corner this past Sunday. Ginn did nothing wrong. Henne is focused on not turning the ball over. He is holding on a little long and it shows in sacks. He is taking his shots but only when he is sure that the match-up is single coverage. This is standard for a young QB on a team with a conservative coach. Lex Hilliard has been absolutely dominating in special teams, he made one mistake but has otherwise been outstanding. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Very difficult game to pinpoint a SOTG. I might give it to Ayodele who got showed up by Torbor, but that is even a stretch. Probably best to say "no SOTG" this week. Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: BigDaddyFin on October 08, 2009, 03:39:13 pm ^^^^
You may be correct in your assessment Doc-Phin. My judgement on Carey and Thomas did not come easily, most of which you touched on above. Officially we gave up 6 sacks, two of them were maybe actual sacks, not caused because Henne ate the ball (2) and Henne stepped up to the wrong side (2) which is not a huge deal, Title: Re: shame of the game bills Post by: bsfins on October 08, 2009, 04:40:43 pm A bunch of ignorance in this thread.
