Title: dolphins play Post by: stealth3ltt on November 15, 2009, 04:23:31 pm Is it me or are the dolphins getting worst as the season goes on. today was the ugliest win this season. the offense could do nothing productive, henne makes the bonehead int throw, they bring Pat white in to look stupid. they did not deserve to win, remember this is a 1-8 team, the phins should have slaughtered the bucs. but it comes down to a last minute FG. I'm worried for the rest of this season after this poor display today.

This should be in anti-fins. but yea, they are getting worse. that is what happens when you take out a great qb in pennington and put in a pos like henne. Title: Re: dolphins play Post by: Tenshot13 on November 15, 2009, 04:26:36 pm The Bucs aren't as bad as their record indicates.
Title: Re: dolphins play Post by: Tepop84 on November 15, 2009, 04:26:58 pm The Bucs aren't as bad as their record indicates. yea they are. Title: Re: dolphins play Post by: ethurst22 on November 15, 2009, 04:27:38 pm This was a very uninspiring win. I wouldn't be celebrating this win if I were the Dolphins. I'd be mad as hell. They played like a 7-9 , 6-10 team out there today.
Title: Re: dolphins play Post by: Tenshot13 on November 15, 2009, 04:38:44 pm yea they are. I'm sorry, I've only watched every single Bucs game this year. What are you basing off of, box scores? You put your foot in your mouth a lot. Title: Re: dolphins play Post by: Tenshot13 on November 15, 2009, 05:14:47 pm If it makes anyone feel better, the Saints almost lost the Rams today.

Title: Re: dolphins play Post by: NADS on November 15, 2009, 11:23:35 pm Should have stayed in the Wildcat.
It's easy to look at the Bucs, say they suck, go through the motions, and lay a turd like today. Luckily we were on the right side of the worst call this year or it would have been an L. Title: Re: dolphins play Post by: dolphinfamily on November 16, 2009, 08:02:00 am Tepop I don't think taking Pennington out was a choice of the coaching staff, seeing as he was put on injured reserve.
I also believe we are better off now then when Penny was in as he was not our future and Henne is. There is no substitute for game experience. Title: Re: dolphins play Post by: Brian Fein on November 16, 2009, 11:12:28 am The Bucs are definitely not as bad as their record. They have QB issues, though, and the rookie looks promising for them. The Dolphins have a bad habit of laying down in the second half, and the coaching staff knows this. They Bucs couldn't sniff the end zone the first half.
If the Dolphins can't figure out how to finish games and curb-stomp their downed opponents, they will lose games late (like the Saints and Bucs games). Title: Re: dolphins play Post by: fyo on November 16, 2009, 06:18:59 pm I think it bears mentioning that the Bucs scored 9 points on field goals of 50+ yards (3 for 3). If any one of those misses, the Dolphins win easily. Not only would the Bucs have missed out on 3 points, the Dolphins would have gotten great field position in exchange.
Title: Re: dolphins play Post by: NADS on November 17, 2009, 12:18:12 am Yea, and we cut the kid that kicked those three 50+ FGs earlier this year.
Title: Re: dolphins play Post by: Tenshot13 on November 17, 2009, 02:20:48 am Yea, and we cut the kid that kicked those three 50+ FGs earlier this year. He sucked in preseason. I doubt he has a game even close to that the rest of the year.Title: Re: dolphins play Post by: Doc-phin on November 17, 2009, 11:01:52 am Its the same story each week with this team...
Minimal-to-no explosiveness on either side of the ball. One of our defensive backs will inevitably give up at least one big play. Zero killer instinct on offense. Good at stopping the run, good running backs, occasional pressure on the QB and a few solid tackles out of the backfield keep it close. This is the recipe for a team that will always play a close game with an outside chance of getting blown out. ---------------------------------- With that said, I am not complaining. For such a young team, we are doing about as good as you could expect. I will start complaining in a year or two when our guys should be ready enough to get the job done with consistency. At that point, I will be the first to rip our coaching staff if they continue to keep the handcuffs on the players. Title: Re: dolphins play Post by: jtex316 on November 18, 2009, 04:51:05 pm This is why analysts hype up "The Wildcat" (because it gives them something to talk about) but NFL teams really don't give too much of a shit about it because the Dolphins can barely win with it. They are really 3 last-second plays away from being 1-8 (lucky TD vs. the Jets, lucky goal-line stop vs. the Jets, lucky that the Bucs defense sucks and that Henne didn't cost them the game).
This is just like last year's 11-5 lucky-ass team where they eeked out victories against shit teams like the Jets and Bucs week in and week out. The dolphins over the last 2 seasons are by far the league's luckiest team because they always luck out wins. I'd like to see them TAKE CONTROL and START TO DOMINATE teams like the Colts or Pats or other top teams for a change. Until then this team - and the Wildcat - are gimmicks that cannot win important ball-games. Title: Re: dolphins play Post by: JVides on November 18, 2009, 04:58:05 pm Yea, and we cut the kid that kicked those three 50+ FGs earlier this year. Yeah, and his kid brother helped kill the 'Canes last weekend, too (kicks for North Carolina). I've had it with the Barth brothers. Barth brothers make me barf! Title: Re: dolphins play Post by: Sunstroke on November 18, 2009, 05:34:34 pm The Barth brothers are the poor man's shorthanded caucasion version of the Zendejas brothers. I really think Casey is going to have a much better NFL career than Connor though...that kid has serious ice water in his veins. Title: Re: dolphins play Post by: fyo on November 18, 2009, 06:07:05 pm Is there any chance our coaching staff looked past the Bucs during prep last week, with an eye towards the Panthers game? Seriously, the game plan was horrible. I've been -- and AM -- a big Sparano fan, but play-calling has been atrocious this year, but the Bucs game really took the cake. I'm HOPING it's a case of looking past the Bucs...

I'd say the Saints probably would have beaten us by close to 21 points or so (sound about right, Jtex?) if it weren't for the Wildcat. The Wildcat might have pulled out a San Diego victory too, but that was left to an inexperienced QB that was forced to play due to injury. I think the problem is more pass defense than our offensive sets. We beat the Panthers by conventional means but it took a relatively mistake-free effort by our receivers to do so. Speaking of the Zendejas brothers, isn't one of their sons playing at the University of Arizona right now? I saw an Alex Zendejas miss a 24 yarder that would've won the game against Oregon if he made it. Title: Re: dolphins play Post by: Sunstroke on November 23, 2009, 09:25:18 am ^^^ Yep...Alex jr is Alex Sr.'s kid. and the nephew of Max, Luis and Alan. All of the Zendejas' family kicks in AZ, and Max and other Zendejas family members still run most of the kicking camps and clinics held in the Valley as well. I saw that kick as well...and was completely unamused. |
