Title: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? Post by: Brian Fein on November 25, 2009, 12:22:41 pm The Saints and Colts will both lose in week 12.
You heard it here first. The Patriots can and will hang with Brees and the boys I expect it to be a nailbiter where the team with the ball last wins. Saints 38 Patriots 41 The Colts travel to Houston to face the teams that ALWAYS plays them tough. The same team who, three weeks earlier, missed a 42-yard field goal with time expiring that would have tied the game in THEIR HOUSE. Colts 20 Texans 27 Title: Re: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? Post by: bsfins on November 25, 2009, 12:36:05 pm I don't think the Saints one is very Bold at all...I thought I saw where they were out of DB's last game 4 DB's backs hurt during the last game...They were using their 2 or thrid Safety to play Corner...Against Welker, and Moss, with Dinged up Defensive backs...Ohhh hell that could get ug-ly..
Title: Re: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? Post by: jtex316 on November 25, 2009, 02:09:36 pm I think the Texans are 1-14 lifetime vs. The Colts. That's a tough stat to overcome. They "almost" won last week at home against Tennessee, too.
They lose far too many "almost" games (like that game where they almost won because of a missed FG, and the other game where they missed because of a missed FG, and the Sage Rosenfels imploding game from last year, and etc..etc..etc...) Title: Re: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? Post by: YoFuggedaboutit on November 25, 2009, 04:16:10 pm Good prediction Brian. I just hope it comes through so the 72 Dolphins and myself can pop some corks.
Title: Re: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? Post by: fyo on November 25, 2009, 04:57:56 pm The Saints and Colts will both lose in week 12. Vegas doesn't disagree all that much with your assessment. Saints are only 2 point favorites while the Colts are 3.5 point favorites against the Texans. Those are some pretty small spreads for undefeated teams... Title: Re: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? Post by: Sunstroke on November 25, 2009, 05:43:53 pm I think the Saints have a much better chance of getting beat than Indy does...and that's how I see it happening. Saints take their first loss this week, Peyton and the Colts remain unblemished. Title: Re: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? Post by: stinkfish on November 25, 2009, 06:30:13 pm I'm cheering for the Saints this week, setting up a HUGE Dolphins/Patsies game for next week.
Title: Re: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? Post by: SportsChick on November 25, 2009, 07:30:10 pm Man, Dolphin fans have more confidence in my team than I do.
The Pats D has been awful. They couldn't stop Manning, I don't think they have a hope of stopping the Saints offense either. Title: Re: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? Post by: fyo on November 25, 2009, 07:43:47 pm The Pats D has been awful. They couldn't stop Manning, I don't think they have a hope of stopping the Saints offense either. The Pats have been unable to stop #1 receivers, tight ends and running backs (in the passing game). That's Colston, Shockey and Reggie Bush / Pierre Thomas. The latter two have decent stats receiving, but aren't really much of a threat. Should be a good game, but I'd be more comfortable predicting a Saints win if they'd actually played a top team. Their most impressive wins are against the 6-5 Giants and 6-4 Eagles. More to the point, neither of these teams (nor any of the Saints' other opponents thus far) have boasted a great offense. Title: Re: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? Post by: SportsChick on November 25, 2009, 07:44:27 pm ....someone needs to look at who the pats have beaten/not beaten and records thereof.....

They couldn't stop Manning, I don't think they have a hope of stopping the Saints offense either. But their offense can stay with the Saints. Title: Re: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? Post by: Brian Fein on November 26, 2009, 01:57:04 am ^^ exactly. They don't need to stop them, they just need to outscore them. The best defense is a good offense. This was how the Patriots of 2007 won. This is how the Rams of 1999 won. It will be a shootout Monday night.
Title: Re: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? Post by: dolphantom on November 26, 2009, 10:52:19 am for the first time ever in my life , and i shudder when i say this.....i find myself rooting (gasp) for a new england team . may God forgive me....... go pats!

Why? So the Saints don't go undefeated? Screw the "undefeated regular season record", its already been matched by another team once already. I'd rather the Saints win this game to help the CURRENT Fins team out, as far as standings go. Title: Re: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? Post by: dolphantom on November 26, 2009, 02:45:53 pm Why? I'd rather the Saints win this game to help the CURRENT Fins team out, as far as standings go. first of all, my hatred of all new england teams comes first. second, they did not match anything, the record was never broken, as the pats did not win the super bowl. therefore they did not go undefeated. the record still stands. an undefeated deason consists of a team actually going undefeated. that includes the super bowl.the pats did not. Title: Re: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? Post by: Dave Gray on November 26, 2009, 03:21:17 pm I find myself somewhat pulling for New England, too. I still have pride in the undefeated season of the Dolphins. I also feel that we're not going to win the Super Bowl this year, regardless, and if we are going to make the playoffs, it's going to come through us running the table, and not for getting help along the way.

Notice in my above post I said "Undefeated regular season record"? Yes, they did match that. They went undefeated in the regular season. Title: Re: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? Post by: Dave Gray on November 27, 2009, 04:58:01 am They went undefeated in the regular season. Nobody does or ever has cared about an undefeated "regular season". The record has always been an "undefeated season", without caveats. It's even more important, because you can't get through the playoffs because of a weak division and an easy schedule in one year. It takes away the element of luck. Title: Re: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? Post by: Thundergod on November 27, 2009, 08:22:30 am Why? So the Saints don't go undefeated? WORD I used to care about the undefeated regular season, 'cause up until NE, no one had ever done that either. Now all Miami has left is an undefeated season record. Even though New England didn't win the Super Bowl they're still the only team to go undefeated in a 16 game schedule (which is pretty impressive IMHO). With a few 18-1 records out there, it's only a matter of time... Title: Re: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? Post by: NADS on November 28, 2009, 03:34:16 am I can see both the Colts and Saints losing mainly due to "Any given Sunday" and "You can't win 'em all."
Reggie Bush and Jonathan Vilma were both limited in practice according to NFL.com. No big deal concerning Bush, who is only good in space, but life will suck if Vilma sits. He was a beast against us per usual. Pats are solid if they can get the running game going and make a few stops. The Saints thrive on one unit picking up for the others...if the O doesn't score, the D or ST will put a game away. I'm taking the Pats and if they don't win then the better for us. Over/under on Saints is 56, FYO. How gross is that? Title: Re: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? Post by: MyGodWearsAHoodie on November 28, 2009, 08:20:04 am ^^ exactly. Post by: fyo on November 28, 2009, 08:44:56 am Over/under on Saints is 56, FYO. How gross is that? I'm steering clear of this game, completely. I think the Cards had a few over/unders in that range last season, so it's not totally insane. And, realistically, would anyone be surprised at something like a 35-27 final score? Both teams "only" scoring in the 20s sounds unlikely. I'm guessing the only way this one stays "under" is if the Patriots dominate. Title: Re: Bold Prediction: why the hell not? But if I'm right, I'm genius. Low risk, high reward.
