Hello TDMMC,

With my computer now in the shop being repaired, as the virus has wreaked major havoc, I am starting this blog from a library computer at Northeastern outside my school's cafeteria.

The Dolphins take on the Jaguars today in a must win game.  A win, and they obtain a valuable tiebreaker against the Jags.  A loss, and the seaon is over.

The last time the Dolphins played the Jaguars was in December of 2006.  I remember that game.   Joey Harrington started for Miami and the fish seemed poised to take a 10-3 or 14-3 lead in the second quarter when he threw a pick in the endzone.  The Jags reeled off three unanswered TDs to take a 24-7 lead in a game they won 24-10, ending Miami's 2006 season.

The keys for Miami today will be the run game.  Ricky was featured on NFL networks interview, but I missed it.

Also key will be the defense, which played stellar against NE last week.  That must continue.

I'm not sure if this will be televised in my area.  If it is, I'll be in my apartment watching it.  If not, I'll be live blogging and following it online.

I have to think that's a matchup issue. Vontae has played some very solid ball and shown improvement almost weekly.

Ricky fumbles twice, Polite does the hard work. Ricky gets the touchdown from the 1 to pad his stats (even though Polite is better at getting 1 yard).

If that had been Ronnie in Ricky's spot (and Ricky playing the role of Polite), Tepop would've gone ballistic.

for an nfl franchise, playing a critical home game for a shot at the playoffs, to turn out soooo many empty seats is freaking embarrassing. i doubt jax has a pro team for much longer...

Punt returns are completely different. IF (still an IF, IMHO) is as afraid of contact as some seem to think, he wouldn't make a good punt returner. Okay, he'd probably be at least as good at fair catching as Bess, but still ;)

 Yea, Dan Henning should really just assume that Bess is gonna fumble every time he touches it.  He has faith that his players aren't going to be dipshits, but he keeps getting proven wrong.

no he shouldn't try to get cute, just stick with whats working. no pass rush whatsoever from the defense, continue to leave it in henne's hands.

it is what henning does though... when the run game is working, he'll check to a halfback pass. when the pass game is going, he'll plug in pat white to throw things off. he likes to go unconventional a lot of times, when you really just need to stay conventional to maintain momentum.

Henne is looking sharp, making his reads.  I really think he's gonna be in the league for a long time. not saying Manning/Brady league, but defnitely someone solid.  he needs to a big, go-to WR to compliment him

To be fair, this was about the best time ALL SEASON. Up by a touchdown, plenty of time left. There's never a good time, but this wasn't particularly bad.

The D has played fairly well, but it's just so INCREDIBLY frustrating to watch them give up the long touchdown drive IMMEDIATELY after the Dolphins score. It happens EVERY FUCKING SINGLE WEEK.

Giving up a 3rd and 18... not exactly brilliant either.

Overall though, they've done a decent job. Not great. Jacksonville have scored less than 20 points in 7 of 12 games so far this year and 2 touchdowns or less four times. Jacksonville's offense is HORRIBLE, so our D SHOULD look good.

Why isn't POLITE getting some love from Henning? Seriously, the guy has done everything asked of him and more, whereas Ricky has fumbled 3 times.

Want to keep giving the ball to Ricky, I'm okay with that, but don't just shelve the running game or start giving it to Hilliard a bunch. Need 3 yards for a first down, why aren't you giving it to POLITE? Especially on second down (the Ricky run for nothing).
