I have to imagine that - if some team goes 19-0 at some point - that the 1972 Undefeated Team will lose a lot of shine and it won't be any kind of deal anymore. It wasn't the first undefeated team in NFL history - just the first in the modern playoff era. If another team does it, will people still care? It will be just like any other record. When it's broken, it will feel less special.

It was one thing when every team was out by week 5 or 6, but in the last few years, with teams rattling off 12+ wins before going down, it only makes the 1972 team shine brighter. Really I know Tommy is not petite but he hardly makes up half the board. The majority of fans here have come to the realization that it will probably be tied at some point and are fine with it.
