Title: Sam Madison finally makes a tackle
Post by: ethurst22 on January 06, 2010, 04:04:32 pm
Finally, after all these years, I see that Sam Madison has finally made a tackle by calling out Ted Ginn Jr. for being afraid to get hit.

Is this the same Sam Madison that hated tackling people that went without an INT for two years? The same guy that Saban called out for not wanting to "stick his head in there and sacrifice his body?"

Some people say that Madison was the best Dolphins corner and that's debatable but calling out Ted Ginn Jr. when you have a track record of avoiding contact is just plain out dumb. Even T-Buck was a better tackler than Madison and he was smaller.

I get it, Madison is from the Deion Sanders school of shutdown corners who hate tackling running backs that come into their area of the field.

It is a wee bit on the hypocritical side...no doubt.

That said, if you look at it simply as "3 (or 4, I forget) time pro bowl CB criticizes an already much-maligned WR on one of his glaring weaknesses" then it really isn't that unreasonable for him to comment.

Bottom line... I didn't like Madison's non-physical game approach just like I hated Deion Sanders' no-touch policy when he played for my Niners. I want a defensive back that enjoys martial arts, sumo wrestling and S&M in his off-time, and plays like he lives for the pain.

God, I miss Ronnie Lott...
