ESPN has a pick'em game for the Vancouver Winter Olympics, and I've started a group for TDMMC to compete in. The Olympics last 16 days, and each day, there will be a new set of prop bet questions (which country will have a better finish in the 440 dash, Germany or Bolivia, that type of question). You make your picks, sit back and cheer for the athletes/teams you have picked. ;D

OK...we have zero participants so far other than me. I thought everyone here was into the Olympics? I'm sure I saw a thread about that recently. ;)

Your quest to just haphazardly sign up for every single ESPN fantasy game is getting a bit overwhelming...

I can't believe I signed up for this....I'm in.

I'm in, as well.  I like these things, and unlike fantasy football, it only last a couple of days -- not an entire season of daily effort.

I'm in.... Now the question is will I remember to set this every day

Sunstroke as you seem to be the guru of ESPN fantasy sports...make sure you let me know when they post the one for the national rock paper scissors championship.   I want in on that one.

I signed up and made my day 1 picks already.  I'll double check that I'm in the group.

Some of our games will only get 5-6 participants...no worries at all.  

I'd love to see 15-20 for every game, but that's just me projecting my own fantasy sports attitude on to others, rather than any realistic expectation.

I'll do some scouting.

On a side note... I am skipping one standard ESPN game for a TDMMC group, just because I can't imagine more than 1-2 people would have any interest at all in the Fantasy Fishing Challenge.

I wouldn't think that at all. It looks like you missed the second day...and that put you in an early hole.

That said, I can show you a NASA rocket scientist who has an all-time top-5 fantasy ranking on ESPN who is only 1 point ahead of you, and he hasn't missed any days. Picking Olympics winners is just darned tough to do, and sometimes it just takes some lucky guessing. ;)

I gotta say, I'm finding this to be pretty fun, and helping to keep me into the Olympics.

Yeah, gotta agree with ya, Brian...I actually find myself watching more of the Olympics this year than I think I ever have.

You're rocking a 99.4% entry as well, which is pretty fucking good. ;)

Additional note...the game goes into turbo mode tomorrow, with 11 matchups to pick. For the folks who are 4-5 points down early, lots of ground can be made up on the high volume days of the game.

Two new prop bets were added to today's pick list... There are now 13 matchups to pick, so take a second to go in and make sure you have picks in on the new ones.

I'm having trouble with this for some reason -- I'm logging in every day to set my stuff, but for some reason, I've missed some events and left them blank.  If they're adding them in later, that's probably why.

The best thing to do is go in first thing in the morning to check your picks. The two they added today were added late last night, after I'd already made my selections. If not for one of the TOP 50 guys sending a little heads-up about an hour ago, I would've missed them as well.

And, considering that I am sitting at #32 on the overall game leaderboard at the moment, missing those would not have made me a happy camper at all.

SportsChick...you were the high point entry in group yesterday with 8 of 13 right, so don't dog yourself too much.

It was a fluke (well other than Shaun White, anyone going against him is stupid) :D

Crap I missed today's first three events.

I got all my picks in, but I am crashing hard to earth in this game right now. I've missed on 9 of the last 13 matchups. and have dipped down to 98.9% on the overall. While I really would have no complaints about a 98.9% ending up in the middle of my Cat B score, the extra 20 points between a 98.9 and a 99.9 are fairly substantial when the final Uber numbers are crunched.

tied for first with Sunstroke, pretty good for a person that is guessing at 90% of the games, and 10% homerism for USA teams.

First time i have seen curling and it looks like an interesting team sport.
