Title: dolphins senior bowl
Post by: dolfan13 on January 30, 2010, 09:45:56 pm
should it be concerning that the team coached by the miami dolphins got beat like a drum today in the senior bowl? is it a problem that the offensive scheming and techniques taught produced a mere 13 points in a college all star game?

goal of the senior bowl isn't to win, its to evaluate talent.

I agree with Hoodie and Stroke, take this in the same way you take in a preseason game.  The goal is to get a look at as many guys as you can.

The only difference is, not all of these guys will be on your team in August.

Both defenses played better than the offenses and special teams which is exactly what you would expect.  Defense is usually able to be picked up faster than offense since timing and chemistry between QBs and receivers needs more time to develop.

I would say that the North's QBs better suited a game like the senior bowl.  Guys like Tebow need whole teams and schemes built around their strong points.

Lastly, turnovers really seemed to be the deciding factor more than anything.  I don't see how you can coach that in such a short time.

Therefore, I don't feel this particular game had any degree of reflection on who was the better coaching staff.  I hope!  But it is funny how the only strong point for the South was from coach Nolan who is the new addition to the staff.  Hopefully the rest of our coaching staffs' conservative nature doesn't erode everything I feel is good about coach Nolan.
