Man Vs. Food is an awesome show.  On last night's live broadcast they even had some cameo appearances by Don and David Shula.  I noticed that shirt that Adam was wearing too and I'm definitely getting one.  Thanks for sharing the link.  I already though Adam was a righteous dude.  But on his website the other day, he was talking about the Super Bowl and he said, "Go team.  And by team, I mean the Miami Dolphins."   His stock rose significantly with me when he said that.   ;D

Having never heard of this, I have to ask...what is the premise of this show? Guys eating large quantities of things? Food fights on a grand scale?

I do like the shirt though...

He just goes around to all the restaurants that have some kind of eating competition. You know, like who can eat 5 super-hot chicken wings in under 5 minutes.

He just happened to have a live show last night with a 48 ounce porterhouse steak and he tried to do that in under 20 minutes.

I bet you'd like this show Stroke.  The show is broken up into two parts, usually.

First, the guy goes around a town and checks out their signature dishes at the oldest places there.  He talks to the locals about the place, goes in the kitchen and sees how the stuff is made, then eats it and describes it.

Second, he goes to a place that has some kind of eating challenge.  It's usually one of three things: 1) an enormous amount of food, 2) an insanely spicy food, or 3) eating while you do something else (like eating and then running a relay race in stages).

The show works because the main guy is pretty likable and charismatic, and they do a good job of finding local culture and embracing it.

I think I may have caught a few minutes of an episode once in a late night boredom surf... I stopped at the channel because they were talking about some guy about to try to eat a certain humongous-sized hamburger as a challenge, and since I have done a few burger eating competitions like that in the past, it kind of grabbed me.

Wow!! $25 for that t-shirt?  Is the guy trying to buy the stadium or something?

I hear ya.  I clicked on it yesterday all jazzed up to buy one and then saw that he was selling them for $25.  So I'm holding off.  Not that I can't afford a lousy $25, but it is kind of a matter of principle.  $25 for a regular t-shirt with some pretty plain lettering sure makes for a high profit margin.

I can't believe the guy hasn't suffered a stroke or heart attack yet. I get full and ready to throw up just watching him stuff his fat face with ridiculous volumes of food.
