My son is on a Batman kick lately, thanks to the Lego Batman game. So this past weekend, we decided to watch Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

I can not stand to watch The Dark Knight without feeling like I am going to puke every time that pig nosed wench Maggie Gyllenhaal is on the screen. Whoever cast her to take the role of Rachel Dawes should be banned from show business. Then taken out back and kicked in the nuts (if it was a guy).

Katie Holmes is by no means the hottest woman on Earth, but she was far and away much easier looking on the eyes than Gyllenhaal.

I hear this from people, but I just don't get it.  I don't like that it's a different actress for continuity's sake, but I'm fine with Gyllenhaal.  I actually wish that she were in both films, as she's much more believable as a D.A. 

I think that Gyllenhaal is attractive.  Maybe I'm a weirdo.  I also thought she was the hotness in Stranger than Fiction.

Katie Holmes shit on Batman Begins. She did not back it and attend events to promote it because of her closeted husband. So they recast her part with an actual actress and not just another talentless pretty face.
At least you do not have to worry about her being in the next movie though.

Gyllenhaal did this low budget short film on people who visit other countries and how their rights were violated. I forgot the name of it. Anyway I'll never look at her the same way again! She was completely nude and was sexually battered by her captor's. I just found it strange that such a big star would do so much for so little.....basically just a political statement.

the new batmans are my favorite Superhero flicks to date. I love the dark knight as opposed to everyday Batman. the Joker was incredible.  Can't wait for a 3rd installment.

I'm with you 100% on this...I thought she was the only "negative" in what was otherwise an extremely great film. Every time she says something in the movie, I resist the urge to play director and scream "CUT!! Say the line, wench, don't read it."

The Dawes character in Batman Begins was pretty atrocious on the acting side as well, but at least she wasn't totally made of wax like Gyllenhaal.

oh.......and  Gyllenhaal apparently does not like to use a lady Bug razor if you get my drift. Looked like a 70's era GlobeTrotter in a headlock.  :P

Even though Maggie Gyllenhaal isn't your typical "hot movie chick".....there is something uniquely sexual about her that does it for me.  Ever since I saw her in that weird Secretary movie.

So the only thing you took away from the provocative and controversial movie is that she did not trim her pubic hair in order to more acurately portray an American graduate student in China?

^^^ C'mon smoothie...quit trying to pick a fight. ;)  By what he's posted in this thread, Maggie's overflowing kooch carpet could be just one of eleventy billion things he took away from the movie, and he just thought that particular furry tidbit would appeal to the masses' appetite for the vulgar & obscene.
