Title: Maine's non-indepth 2010 MLB outlook: Post by: MaineDolFan on March 29, 2010, 01:20:42 pm When able, I will be firing up the MLB PT again this year. It'll most likely be an every other week affair versus weekly. That said, and without a ton of reasons why, here is my outlook for this upcoming season.
Starting with the NL (age before beauty): NL East: Philadelphia Phillies NL Central: Cincinnati Reds NL West: Colorado Rockies NL Wildcard: Florida Marlins American League: AL East: New York Yankees AL Central: Detroit Tigers AL West: Seattle Mariners AL Wild Card: Boston Red Sox Two teams that will be better than people think: Baltimore & Washington AL MVP: Alex Rodriguez AL Cy Young: King Felix NL MVP: Prince Fielder NL CY Young: Josh Johnson What say you? I think he is going to start out great, but he's dodged the injury bug so long that I think this year it catches up with him, and he makes less than 25 starts...which takes him out of my Cy Young consideration. But the Reds? Isn't this like the Houtson Texans in the NFL those teams people keep picking to do really well this year,kind of the in thing to do...I've seen this a few times...The Brewers,and The Cardinals...Yep I can see it....again...but the Reds? Boston castoff David Aardsma went from a 3.90 ERA and 60 innings pitched to one of the best closers in the game last year when he hit Seattle. He was given the closer position out of default coming out of last year's camp. No one expected that. Before his time in Boston he stunk up the joint in Chicago (both teams in that city). Arms come out of nowhere in the 'pen sometimes. I think more important than having blue chip talent in your bullpen is having different types of pitchers in your bullpen, and a damned good pitching coach that knows how and when to use them.
