In Denver, Marshall wore #15.  Well, here we have a #15 - Davone Bess. 

Will Marshall convince Bess to give up the number?  Or will he be a "team player" and pick whatever is available.

So far, looking at the roster, only 19, 87, and 88 are unclaimed right now.  The roster has him listed (I assume temporarily) as #0.

I read somewhere That devon said that the Number is NOT for sale at any price. I'm thinking since he didn't secure a bigtime contract yet...........he might want to rethink that giving Brandon is one of the best paid at his position.  8)

That is a good starting position to negotiate from. 

If Devon had said, "yeah sure i figure we can work out a reasonble deal" that is a bad negotioning position to start from.  "Not available ant any price" is another way of saying, "don't waste your time low balling me, find out what the most money any player has ever paid for a number and then offer me 10% more than that."

I read a quote from Marshall saying that the number belongs to Bess and he would not ask for it.

I think he's claiming number 87. We should know by minicamp.

I get that players get attached to the number on their jersey, but I really hate when players make a big stink about not getting the number they want (at any level). If someone wants to ask for (or offer) a number, fine, but keep it out of the media and don't whine about it.

I haven't heard this in the media.  I was just checking the roster (because I wanted to buy a jersey) and noticed he was #0.  I haven't heard him making a stink, but I was in China for 2 weeks, so I might have missed something.

You would think that Marshall would not want the number tied to his time in Denver. Fresh start with a fresh number.

I wasn't referring to Marshall (but rather the many diva players who do make a big stink). I think the few times I've heard him say anything about it, he's been prompted by journalists (and very polite on the matter).

He should wear #13.

I guess this clears up any lingering doubts if the Dolphins were considering retiring a number in honor of Ginn.

I don't care what number he wears, as long as he gets over whatever mystery injury kept him out of yesterday's OTA, and he gets his butt out on the field.

According to the rumor mill, he had some type of hip surgery.

He should be ready to go by training camp.

It was a cleanup of an earlier procedure he had. He was at the facility, just on an exercise bike. I don;t see anything to worry about.

after his return to practice/OTA's today, he said 19 is his official number.....just an fyi
