Title: NFL Rookie Chatter
Post by: Sunstroke on July 08, 2010, 07:24:04 pm

Preseason is just around the corner, so I wanted to get some TDMMC feedback on...

"Which NFL rookies NOT in Miami are you looking forward to seeing on the field this season, and why?"

A couple to prime the pump...

FS/SS Earl Thomas, Seahawks.  I believe his in-play instincts are tops among all defensive backs in this class, and that often translates to a strong rookie campaign. Not happy he's in the same division as my Niners, because I think he'll make his first pro bowl by his second season.

WR Eric Decker, Broncos.  I watched a few of his games last year for the Gold-phers, and he's just "my kind" of WR. He has solid size, deceptive speed, ridiculously good hands and the type of motor not common at the position. I think he'll be in the top-3 for Denver in receptions and receiving yards in his rookie season.

Who are you guys fired up to see?

To answer your literal question of non-Miami rookies I am most interested in, "Devin McCourty, Rob Gronkowski, Jermaine Cunningham, Brandon Spikes, Taylor Price, Aaron Hernandez, Zoltan Mesko, Ted Larsen, Thomas Welch, Thomas Welch, Kade Weston,  and  Zac Robinson."  I think the reason is obvious.

To answer the intendind question.

Tim Tebow  -- how will he be used? will he prove the doubters wrong? or is gonna be another poor move by Denver which seems to have made a string of them.

Ducasse, Vlad - while I did not graduate from UMASS, every single person in my immediate family has attended that school for at least a few classes.

Toone, Tim - I always root for Mr. Irrelevant to shock the world and earn a starting spot coming out of camp.
