According to this list Miami must be the most hated sports town in the US of A with a number 1, 11 and 25!! An interesting list. I wonder if this poll was re-done in January if the Heat would drop off the list. Also how many of these teams were champions? If it represents hatred in the USA neither #10 or #20 should be on the list as nobody really gives a crap about #10 in the USA and #20 wasn't really hated by Americans. If this was suppose to represent world opinion it has an insane level of USA bias. As with most media created lists the goal is not accuracy but controversy. They want page hits, folks creating blogs complaining that one item was too high or too low. Why team such and such wasn't on the list, etc. Oh and yippy for #6! After that tournament was over I was pissed at them. Their performance was not good and I felt it was inexcusable. I was indeed angry with that team and the foundation that put it together. In the history of Olympic basketball the USA had lost two games. In this tournament they lost three games with a squad comprised of NBA talent. It was inexcusable.

However, it's really hard to pick out a certain team to hate. Most of the time it's a bunch of regular guys with no off the field issues, nor were they arrogant. I think the 1978 team is the best choice for this list, but there aren't many other seasons you can point to that team and say "I hate that guy for reasons other than he is good".
