The Dolphins Make Me Cry.com - Forums

It's been a long time in the making, but we've finally launched our site redesign.  It's not all the way done, and there are still some graphical tweaks and content we'll be adding, but the structure is there.

Why Should I Care?  I only use the forums.
TDMMC has been redesigned with ease of information in mind.  It's a minimalist idea, with only important stuff being shown, and getting rid of a lot of the other filler crap.

The home-page is now super sleek, showing the latest blog post, which will most likely be announcement-based, or info directly from the Dolphins.  Below that is our news center, which automatically populates local news, national football news, official news, and the latest Dolphin topics on the forum.

The goal was to make a homepage that people (including me) would want to visit daily.  I think we now have it.

Also, don't forget to add us to your social media outlets, because we'll be updating those regularly, too, with announcements and contests.

I welcome feedback, since we'll continually be making changes.

I don't like.   It has "new" next to threads that have nothing new.

Click on "mark as read" at the bottom.  Helped me tremendously.

The forum is the same.  We had to switch the server, so the forum posts all show up as new.   That will go away naturally.

Or you can force them to all go away by clicking on "Mark as read" at the bottom of each forum.  Then any new posts after that point will show up as "new" again.

So can we expect the return of the Ring of Dishonor?

Yes, we have new ideas for Ring of Dishonor and Goat Trailer updates will be very easy to make now.

I love it.  Top to bottom.  The only complaint I have is how dumb ass goofy I look in my picture.  If I submit a new one would you be able to use it?

I bugged your ass for a year for a photo and now you want a new one?   Sorry, boss...you're stuck with it for now.  I have too many other graphical updates to do now.  ...it you want to send one, though, I'll file it away.

Dave, I don't think I have seen any updates to the news sections since it opened. The same stories have been up there for a while.

I prefer to make a more complimentary comparison for Maine's pic...

Yep, we had a technical issue.  Now, it's worked out.  It seems that we're still having an issue with the forum posts updating, but we're looking into it.

...which reminds me, if any of you notice things that aren't working like they're supposed to, let me know.  I have also noticed that the forum search feature isn't returning results.

I seem to have an issue with personal messages since the update... It still shows that I have 239 messages, but none of them actually show up in my inbox.  One is supposedly "new," but I have no idea if it is new or not, as it isn't showing up in the inbox either.

Hmmmm...

^ I'm having the same issue.  I have 12 pages of "blank" messages, and then my 2 new ones, but I have to manually click to page 1 to view them.

That's not the purpose of the ROD.  It's for people that were a detriment to the organization while they were here.

what if he's a detriment to the organization after he's gone?

How has he hurt the Dolphins?  They are doing just fine without him.

What if - very hypothetical here - JT comes out Sunday night and has a monster game?  8 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, one recovery for a TD, 2 picks, one of which he ran back for a TD.  He basically single-handedly beat the Dolphins on his own.

That's a detriment to the Dolphins, he cost us the game.

The ROD is reserved for Dolphins players. Brady or some other player with success against the Dolphins would never come into question as a ROD candidate. I would therefore argue that the "detriment to the Dolphins" has to be while the player is actually part of the franchise. Once he leaves, he's free to do whatever.

Letting Jason Taylor into the Ring of Dishonor as a Jet makes about as much sense as letting Leon Lett into the Ring of Honor as a Cowboy.

Yeah, I'd agree that JT doesn't belong in there, because he wasn't a detriment to the team while he was in Miami.
